The Lancaster Liederkranz is a German Singing Society and Cultural Club, established in 1880 to promote and perpetuate German singing, dancing, music, language, foreign exchange, and culture for its members and their guests.
The Liederkranz is a private membership club. Non-members must be accompanied by a member except for select special events which are sponsored and open to the public.

We had friends visiting from NJ and wanted them to experience the old world feel of the Leiderkranz. Buskers was a great band. Not too loud and the music was fun to sing along and dance with. I like to be able to talk and enjoy the band as background. Many times the band is too loud to talk. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was delicious as usual and the price reasonable.

My only suggestion/comment is why do we need to make reservations every time we want to come for dinner? Lots of times, we don't usually know that we want to go out for dinner until its dinnertime. This makes going to the club challenging.

My wife and I have been members since June of last year. Every time we have eaten at the Liederkranz dining room, the staff has never failed to deliver more than what we had expected in a dining experience. The waitresses have all been very friendly and very efficient. The food, when served has been hot, delicious, and plentiful. We now order one entre for the two of us - The portions may be perhaps too generous and we don't want to waste any food there. Excellent German cuisine- well worth the cost (in membership) of admission! The bar staff has always been friendly and efficient - serving excellent mixed drinks - and, of course, the fine selections of German beers available. One of the very few establishments where I have had no problem leaving a healthy tip for the staff. What a value. I am proud to be a member. Thank you.

Need more value oriented choices mixed in with $$$ dishes. A cheeseburger and fries would also be a nice addition as well as keeping the fries with the Chicken Sandwich. That being said…… chef does awesome job and food is delicious always!

On Thursday night the place was very busy. The back up chef was doing the best he could (head chef was on vacation). The servers and bar were all working together to get people fed! We waited over 1.5 hours for our dinner and the apps were missed by the kitchen. All that said, we had a great meal and trivia night!!!
I heard some tables of guests got up and walked out and were quite nasty. To those people....shame on them! Obviously they have never worked in the restaurant business. Stuff happens, kitchens fall apart, especially when everyone walks in at the same time for dinner.
To the chef and waitresses.. keep up the great work!?

It was my Uncle’s Birthday and we are all getting older and getting him and all of his sisters together made his night, great food, amazing wait staff. And the club was just the best. I made a reservation but it was not prepared for us. When we got there, there was not a table reserved and the place was filled. The waitstaff went out of their way to find us a place, and were going to move some people that were at a table that was not reserved. We found seats at the bar, and didn't want them to move the other people. They did what they needed to do to accommodate us for the oversight. Great!

Initially we had a dining room reservation and our server ignored our table for over 15 minutes. We then moved to a table over at the bar area and were served immediately. The schnitzel was fabulous as well as the red cabbage. However, the sausage was over grilled and dry. German sausage is not meant to be thrown on the grill but rather boiled and if necessary, pan fried for a few minutes. Our service at the bar was outstanding as usual and the selection of beer was great. As far as the ambience goes, Wunderbar! We will be back but hope that some minor adjustments can be made in the kitchen to showcase the delicious sausage that you do offer.

Totally excited to see meatless options on the menu! The portabella mushroom with vegetables entree a few weeks ago was delicious! Hope it will be on the menu again some time. The only concern for dinner was they did not have the one entry I wanted for dinner available (at the time of our reservation). I chose an alternative, which was tasty. All in all, it was a good meal experience with great service.

I'm pleased that the Liederkrantz is 'back in business'. My group sat @ a table for 10 folks & that worked quite well..we were happy! ..The new chef is doing a great job..love the 'roasted' potatoes. The weiss wurst was a bit 'tuff' though I like it & would order it again. Continued 'best wishes' to the Club...

First time eating under the new chef. I had the cod sandwich, my buddy had the Weiss wurst platter with red cabbage. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and were delicious.

Liederkranz is always a great night out. Great food coupled with friendly service & nice CE ambience. Like being in Germany without the air fare.
