4. We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of £10 per person for any bookings that is cancelled not according to our policies.

Love this restaurant for its food - the food is always brilliant... and I cannot understand why I am sometimes the only party dining? We arrived at booked time (9 pm on a Sunday night) to find staff obviously hoping to go home early but we were welcomed and every effort taken and made to serve us. Delicious food again - although the portions are "small", the two of us found the choice of the following quite sufficient with even a bit of the lamb left over to "take-away":
Bhinidi Bhel - wonderful appetiser of okra but not as you know it
Hankies Dhal
Tawa Pulao (saffron baked rice with prawns)
Laal Maans (slow braised lamb)
and, of course, a Roomali Roti Aka "hankie" - wonderfully thin roti
There's a master chef in the kitchen!
Maybe the name should be changed as "Hankies " doesn't really give any indication of the standard and quality and taste of the Indian street food on offer?
Some play on the word "tiffin" perhaps?
I would have every dish in my tiffin box every day of the week!

The food, service and ambiance at Hankies were phenomenal. Despite covid, the measures the staff had taken made us feel safe and allowed us to enjoy our evening. We will definitely be back. My husband can’t wait to order another round of the lamb chops!

The food was delicious. We went for lunch and only one other table was filled, but that meant the staff weren’t always around, so we wanted to order an extra item but had to wait a while to find a waitress to order with, which shouldn’t really happen with only 2 tables in the restaurant filled. Food honestly was to die for though: will definitely be back again: especially for the Daal and truffle naan!

Everything was perfect and team were able to accommodate our requests off the menu.
Portion sizes were little small which could be improved otherwise everything was great.
Feedback on booking system - you can only book table for 5 online and we were six of us. Online it says you need to call for party size of 8 or more… doesn’t cover scenarios for if you have 6 or 7 people.

Amazing atmosphere, staff and decor. The food was well flavoured and the meats were so soft and lovely. The lamb pot could have had more flavour which was a bit of a let down. Overall the chilli lamb chops were the star of the show! We will be back for more soon!

The food as always was very good indeed and they had done a good job at separating the tables. The service as always was slightly flaky. We had to remind them about the wine and ask twice for extra water. One dish was totally forgotten and never arrived despite us asking for it. Great food spoilt by substandard service
