We weren't happy upon arrival as the gentleman who greeted us shared that the children would have to leave by 8:30pm. Our table was booked for 7:45pm and we did share that we would be celebrating a 9 year old's birthday.
Otherwise, the experience was a great one. Shout out to Nikki/Nicky who took care of us exceptionally well. We appreciated it, especially the birthday girl!

The food was lovely and there was good variety and portion sizes. Some of the staff have not yet developed a courteous enough approach to service which lets the restaurant down. They do not know the menu well enough. There was no fish available due to a supplier issue. The restaurant decor needs to be developed further. More appropriate artwork is needed ad the bathroom needs desperate refurbishment. Starters are reasonably priced but pricing of some of the entrees needs further attention. The cocktails were poor. The pins colada was good but the mango mai tai was left as good quality fruit juice is not used and Rubicon or similar is. This is not a good shout. Overall this is a good restaurant with good food!

Nice vibe and very attentive waitresses. The food was ok: presented very well, but the fried chicken was very salty and so my daughter couldn't eat it and although my escovitch fish was very nice, it could have done with more seasoning and should have had onions as part of the garnish. For a lunch time period the music could be slightly lower in tone also have more soul or reggae classics. It is still dim lighting which is hard for some people to read their menu. The prawns were so yummy! it is my 4th visit to Dutchie and still service is slightly slow. It would be great if you could mix and match from the menu as I like me curry goat wid mac n cheese, the guyanese in me. My mother and Aunt who are aged 78 enjoyed their food. thank you

Being provided with spoons in the cutlery pot on the table.
Being provided with hot pepper sauce rather than thai sweet chilli sauce as this is more Caribbean condiment
The rnb/hip hop music took away from the ambiance. It was a bit loud for background music and at times contained explicit language which would not have been appropriate if I had minors with me. I expected the background music to be reggae or something else associated with the Caribbean. This would have been more in keeping with the menu being Caribbean food and add to the ambiance.

Our experience was average.. The service was slow. The alcoholic cocktails had no alcohol in it what so ever. If your looking for a cosy environment this is certainly not the place. Our food was okay nothing to right home about. Our waiter was pleasant and had a calm aura bout him.
