We had a wonderful experience recently at King and I. Ally was gracious and took good care of us. I might add that INE of our party is severely dairy allergic and their menus clearly states which selections have dairy, are vegan, are gluten free, etc. We considered that a huge bonus for making our choices.

Wonderful! We went early, which might have contributed to the wonderful and friendly service. Our waiter was delightful. Enjoyed the atmosphere...which has lot's of Thai art, statues, paintings, and such. Also, nice that there is an open view to the kitchen. We will go back soon. My wife is more an expert on Thai food, and she said it was perfect. I'm not an expert and prefer milder seasoning, and they were very accommodating. We loved it and will be back.

Simply the best Thai food we’ve had in a long while. We started with coconut shrimp, I had crispy duck with volcano sauce and my wife, volcano chicken. We shared chicken fried rice which was excellent. Unlike most Chinese food, these dishes were not overly salty which we can appreciate. Highly recommend The King and I.

Had been there years ago. It seems to have gone downhill. The bathrooms were dirty and that always sets off alarm bells for me. Where do the cooks and food handlers wash their hands if the bathrooms are not clean? There are other Thai choices skip this one.

Our first experience with Thai food and it was incredible. The server was very nice, but she checked on us quite infrequently and didnt even walk by our table, so it was difficult to request what was left off of our dish, pay our bill, etc. We would still consider returning the next time that we are in Milwaukee. Great food , generous portions, and generally very good service. Food comes out fast and close together, so if you want to enjoy your appetizer or soup or salad slowly, don’t order your entree til you’re done with the 1st course or hot food will line up on your table. They had a couple of larger parties come in that tied up the servers for a while away from ours and other tables later in our meal but the staff was hustling and tried really hard to keep everyone at each table happy. Our longest wait was for our bill. Will gladly return to this old favorite.

The king and I was a staple restaurant for my family in the 90s. We loved the old restaurant with the traditional dining table. We moved years ago and on our first family trip back to Milwaukee in decades we went back to the king and I. The menu was same, but the food just lost some it’s magic. I know Bob, the founder passed away but I fear so has the attention to details. Overcooked chicken, greasy wontons just to name a few,

The waiters attitude was poor. Treated us as if we were unimportant to his other duties, as there were only 4 other tables busy we were surprised. Also, there was no Thai tea available for a 5:00 pm dinner reservation, the busiest time for a dinner reservation. The back up beverage ( lemonade ) for one of our party was also not available. Food was good but appetizers were small, Thai spring rolls served was not even 1 small roll per person.
Very disappointing for a popular item.
Greeting by hostess was slow and disappointing.
Not at stand upon arrival and gave us no welcoming greeting . Also was underdressed for her position and represented your good restaurant poorly.
All in all as a frequent customer, we see the main dishes consistently good. Appetizers small and overpriced for what you serve. Overall hostess and waiter service extremely poor. Not friendly, timely, or welcoming.

Address on the iPhone map was wrong. Felt Like we were being rushed out the door before they closed. The restaurant did not close for another 20 minutes. We felt like we could not finish our conversation. Food was excellent though.
