Food Films: Food Consciousness

 

Not since Sinclair's The Jungle has there been as much buzz over food production consciousness in the U.S. as with this summer’s film Food, Inc.  This film was the first enviro-food film to hit major movie theatres nationwide, making it a groundbreaking step in the effort to inform citizens of ill-fated practices across various layers of the U.S. food production industry.  The blog Serious Eats recently published a list of additional movies that address the sensitive yet often overlooked issues in our country’s food production.  These movies cover issues concerning fast food, school lunches, genetically modified foods, and more.  For a complete list, visit:
