Easter Sunday brunch was terrific! The pork omelette was outstanding as were the beignets. Eggs Benedict were great. John & Sherri continue to amaze. Can’t wait until they open Tavern Trattoria in Laurie.

A relaxed dinner with excellent service and menu items you just can't make at home. Every visit I personally cannot pass up the daily special. Be sure to make a reservation because the area will start to crowd up and soon the toll bridge will not keep folks from the value excellence provided.

We were there to celebrate a birthday in February and were impressed with everything so we decided to celebrate our 18th anniversary in March back at the Tavern at Trails End. My wife ordered the same thing she did in February, side Caesar's salad and the mussels because they were both fantastic. I decided to try the Sunday Fried Chicken. It came with green beans and red smashed potatoes with duck fat gravy. The chicken was not greasy at all from the frying. Delicious. Only thing there was very little gravy on the chicken and the potatoes so I asked for a bit more gravy. I was surprised that I was charged an additional $1.50 for a small container of gravy. I have asked for this type of thing in countless other restaurants and have never seen an add-on charge. Oh well. Also we had a different server this time, Bethany. She was also friendly and attentive. Finally I will add that we are sad to see the bartender, Michael, leaving the establishment to move to Seattle.

At long last we were able to make time (post-holidays) to get by and try this place. We made it for Sunday Brunch and will definitely be back for dinner! From the Bloody Mary’s to the Beignets to the Huevos Rancheros to the Trail’’s End burger, the food was excellent. The place itself is like a diamond in the rough, great ambiance and I cannot wait until warmer weather to try the Porch. And our waitress (Mia) was great, answering all our menu questions and taking care of our birthday celebrations. The only bad thing was that it took us so long to discover this place!

We have dined at the Tavern multiple times since it's opening. The food is always great. The variety of dishes is appreciated. Our server was efficient and helpful. We love the ambience because it encourages casual dress and conversation, yet an upscale feeling. The prices seem a little high, however, the that appears to be the case with many similar restaurants at the lake.

For us, Mia makes the experience extra special, and she served us well last night – excuse the pun :-) Wayne had a wonderful birthday, and we enjoyed the food very much. The special dessert of fried cherry pies with amazing blueberry ice cream at the end were simply fantastic. We are enjoying the pie leftovers with our coffee this morning on the deck overlooking the water. Our appetizers of the Korean sticky ribs were the highlight of the evening – we’ll be having those again! We enjoyed the Malbec table wine so much we took an extra bottle home with us. :-) We were pleased with your “acquisition” of Mike the bartender. His new autumn, apple martini was exquisite. Mia shared about your venturing into bourbon flights, and we’re excited to try that as well. As far as any improvements, we both agree your bread offering has never been anything to get excited about. Not sure how you could rectify that but, in general, it just seems to not really add anything of value to the meal.

Everything was absolutely wonderful except service by one of the waitresses Mia. We had her for dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday. I understand being short staffed and busy but when the chef serves us our food, the hostess brings us our drinks (both times we while at the table) the only thing she did was write down our order, I can’t help but not tip accordingly. When people are waiting for you to take their card to pay especially during breakfast when there was only 3 other parties in the building at the time, maybe don’t wait 15 minutes before you pick up the card to run it. We had to approach her at the bar to pay our tab. Definitely not an instance to make us not come back, but we would appreciate to not have her as a server again. John and Sherri are the best!

The only small thing would be to help the servers with delivering drinks, as you do with food. Servers are very good and busy so sometimes they can’t get back to the bar to get drinks in a timely fashion. Not a big deal - just something I observed. Thanks for the wonderful evening!!

Our friends, new to your restaurant, were impressed with atmosphere and food. He had the pork chop and she had the scallop special. Wayne enjoyed his Seabass and I loved my usual Sunday chicken. ❤️ we ordered two desserts and shared it. Delicious!

A friend of mine and I saw the great reviews of this place and we decided to try it. Wow! It is a cute historic cabin-like building off a little gravel road The atmosphere is updated-rustic and inviting. Our server, Mia, was awesome. She was friendly and gave us great recommendations. the meal starts with a loaf of a combination of breads, followed by salad, seafood pasta, homemade roaster tomato soup, scallops, and bread pudding. Everything was mouthwatering! I can’t wait to go back!

We were 100% satisfied with our entire experience. Our first time to The Tavern was in June and we knew we had to bring our group of 10 back with us. We’ve been travelling around the world and cooking together for years. No one was disappointed! The food was phenomenal, the wait-staff, excellent& we loved that Chef was engaged with everyone at the restaurant. We will be back!!

Everything we had was delicious! The chef came by our table a couple of times and we enjoyed chatting with him. We loved the ambiance and decor! Would recommend to all our friends and family!
I hate to write anything negative because we enjoyed our experience so much, but thought it may help to know.. we came in Thurs 8/31 when we were in town for a conference. We’d been looking forward to trying this restaurant for several months, but didn’t get a reservation since there were only 3 of us and we lost track of time.
Came in around 730, there was no one waiting, the hostess told us there was room for 2-tops but no availability for 3-tops and we couldn’t get a table at all that night so need to come back another time. We understood, our fault we didn’t get a reservation! but were disappointed. So we decided to just see as a last ditch effort if we could book a reservation online, and were able to. We came back in 20 minutes later for our reservation. The hostess checked us in, told us it would be awhile (which was fine! We were in no rush and were just happy to be there) Several parties came in & were seated (not a big deal, we assumed they had earlier reservations or their table was ready & ours wasn’t), several other parties were turned away like we were. The hostess would disappear for periods of time, which we thought maybe she was busy in the back or something. After maybe 15 minutes of waiting, the bartender came by & asked if we’d been helped, she looked our reservation up and said our table had been ready and sat us, then ended up being our server too and was excellent!
We totally understand it’s a small restaurant and we should’ve gotten the reservation in the first place. And we were not angry at all. Considering how attentive everyone else was and wonderful our experience was, we thought maybe you’d want to know how guests are being greeted since that’s the first person everyone encounters who comes in.
We will be back next time we’re in town!
