The Sun Inn is a traditional Lakeland Inn dating from 1711 with stone floors and roaring fires in the winter, low hanging wooden beams, and exposed brick. Originally, the Inn was a row of cottages with one enterprising resident serving beer from the front room of one of the cottages. Visitors to the area increased during the early 19th century thanks to the establishment of Crook Mill where bobbins were manufactured, and as a result, the Inn became a fulltime establishment.
