We had a party of seven of all ages including one toddler, celebrating my birthday. We knew little about Ethiopian food and our table was a bit chaotic. Our server was fantastic. He was very gracious and so enthusiastic about giving us a great experience at Erta Ale. We ordered Sambusa to start and then shared family-style the Erta Ale Special along with one additional Kitfo entree and one kid's meal. The Erta Ale Special provided everyone a great introduction to many of the menu's offerings. We enjoyed all of it and there was still plenty to take home. The meal ended with a complimentary piece of Tiramisu, a lit candle on a tall candlestick, and Happy Birthday played over the sound system. A wonderful dining experience and birthday celebration.

Great food! The best Ethiopian that I've had in the Twin Cities. And a spectacular deal. The service was very good and the server was extremely friendly, helpful, and the food was timely. My only complaint is that we had to wait quite a bit to be helped. The help was very good but just wanted to comment on timeliness.
