The waitress was very pleasant and efficient however she was rushed off her feet which resulted in a wait for plates to be cleared and to order desserts. She did a great job but the overall experience would have been smoother and faster with more waiting staff.

We were there new years eve. The food was exceptional- perfectly cooked steak and good value for money. My only criticism would be that the atmosphere was non existent. The young lady that served us didn't crack a smile at all and looked like it was the last place she wanted to be. This was a shame as we were planning to have a drink and see the new year in after eating, but were home by 10.30pm.

Please read my emails I must have rung 50 times to cancel the booking and noone picks up I'm still awaiting my refund for deposit how can we tell you we couldn't come if noone answers phone I tried from sunday morning till monday teatime about every half hour !

Disappointed,we ordered the bread board with creamy butter but the butter was cold individual catering sachets, difficult to spread. The steaks were ok but the triple cooked chips which was stated on the menu were only just cooked and would say had barely seen the fryer !!! The peppercorn sauce was debatable. Overall a disappointing meal, please cook what it says on the menu, corners were cut I think. Will not be returning.

We were seated on a very wonky table and asked to be moved We were then moved to a table infront of a boarded up window and after settling we realised we were really starting to feel cold from the draft so asked to be moved again. Eventually we sat down and enjoyed our meal. Food was amazing but not the best experience for our first time

I was a bit cold where I was sat as there was a cold draught blowing on my back from somewhere. I think some nice background music would be a nice touch but overall, we had a great experience. The staff were very very lovely, thefood was delicious and good portions. I would have liked the option to choose Garden peas over mushy peas with my fish and chips though.

Overall disappointment because 5 out of 6 people choose a steak option, 1 ordered Ribeye, but it was clear it was not that cut, another ordered medium rare rump steak, it was cooked medium to well, and 3 ordered TBone, one was medium,two were medium well, all three were like chops not T bone as one would expect. The side disses were excellent and the sauces really nice too. We did tell the staff about the rib-eye and rump steak issues, they offered their apologies and did credit us with two free desserts. Would we go back, sadly probably not on this experience, it’s a shame as we do like to support local restaurants.

Went on a lunchtime with my husband and son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren and opted for the lunchtime menu which is good value and food was excellent. The child’s menu was very good and my grandsons steak would have fond for me snd I’ve been to restaurants where his portion would have been the equivalent to their man course, and they then had sweet. Only gripe was we asked if the children could have their man course when we had our starters but unfortunately this didn’t happen snd we had finished our starters way before theirs came , but they still enjoyed it The only other thing which hope will be taken constructively is the 7.5% service charge and I think it should be somewhere on the menu and not hit with it when you get the bill. Saying that I still tipped our lovely waitress and will definitely be back

Waited for 25 minutes just to get asked for drinks order then another 10 minutes for food. Booked a table for 6:30 knowing that we had comedy night booked at 8:30 thinking that should be more than enough time....it wasn't...had to eat mains as fast as possible and go to the bar to pay. I've tried lockside multiple times now to be sure but it is now fact the fillet steak quality is just awful - tastes gritty! Fair enough if you're paying wetherspoons prices to get wetherspoon quality but it's as expensive as other fabulous restaurants locally. Starters were just bland also. So all in all very slow service, bland food and bad quality meat. Will not go back. (Please note this has been judged over about 6 visits as really wanted this local place to work)

4/5 steaks were over, we waited quite a while already so didn’t want to wait any longer. Our waiter Josh, was very friendly and helpful. During the evening some of the chefs friends arrived, this is was not very professional and made us feel uncomfortable. When leaving said friends were hanging around the car park and walking into the kitchen via the back. Loved my Camembert

The waitress that served us was very attentive and apologised for the poor food and offered free desert I’m made the booking online and the £10 deposit wasn’t refunded back on the bill. £40 was a lot to pay for such poor food. Blonde waitress was throwing the knifes and folks away right next to us and when I asked her she replied rudely I just likes throwing them?? Won’t be coming back sorry

Just been for the Valentines meal…. Never been before, saw it on fb….. absolutely brilliant, steaks cooked to perfection and so tasty, starters were excellent.. would have gone later but it was full….. Only to read later that tables were free as they had some no shows! Why do people do that, yes there is a £10 deposit but obviously not enough. We’ll definitely be going back, even the owner came and chatted with us. Very friendly staff. 10/10 all round… Thank you

Payed £10 deposit upfront which wasn't deducted from bill. Waited 45 minutes for a posh burger which sat under lamps for 10 minutes ending up dry whilst a medium rare steak was cooked and turned out to be well done. Will not be visiting their again. In my experience with fillet steak no better than a beefeater and that's saying something. SHIT

From the moment we arrived for lunch on Wednesday 20th April we felt valued as customers. Tracey was so welcoming, helpful and attentive. We all opted for the New York steak which was cooked to perfection by Dylan. We have all been fans of Miller &Carter steaks but this steak and they way it was cooked was by far in front of theirs. Myself and one sister followed with honeycomb cheesecake which was to die for and my other sister had the brownies which she said were perfect. All in all our experience was brilliant and we will certainly be returning. Thank you Tracey and Dylan.

The tables were dirty/sticky and so were the menu’s , we asked for a clean menu and it was just replaced with another sticky dirty menu, the tables were not cleaned when guests left and new guests came to the tables, there was also food and serviettes on the floor !! The sweet corn was not fresh and had a unpleasant taste so it was returned to the kitchen, the salad that came with the the main courses was also not fresh, there was live music on in the bar which was to loud and we couldn’t hear each other talking, I think the young girls that work there need to pay some attention to detail to the cleanliness of the tables and floor areas, My husband enjoyed his steak however it was well cooked and tasty, However we will not be returning and we will not recommend the restaurant .

Our experience was amazing, the food was phenominal! I had the new york strip steak and it was like eating fresh air it was so tender!The smell hits you from the off when you arrive! This is our second time we have been back and will 100% be going back on a regular basis. It is so clean, you can see the chef cooking your food. The satff are so nice and they can't do enough for you, always smiling and happy top help. You will not be dissapointed at Lockside steak house!!

My partners steak he said was beautiful no complaints from him...how ever my chicken was a bit dry a bit over cooked but rest was nice. Second visit.... We thought the first was good but this one was perfect. Josh was our sever and he was just brilliant. Made us feel right at home and even made us feel like the kids weren't a nuicance....which is difficult, because they are!! The steak was beautiful and my son said his mash was the best mash he'd ever tasted. Really glad we came here for my sons 4th birthday treat. Thank you

The chocolate bombe sweet needs to be served back in a bowl. Pouring hot sauce on a piece of slate does not work well. Sauce goes everywhere and half is wasted because you can only use a small amount due to the presentation change.

Had a great evening food was good full of flavour but steak was slightly under (medium) but always hard to get the consistency right with a rib eye. The Service was ok had to keep asking for extra drinks but other than that they came across very friendly.

Food was superb. Only a few staff on duty, left standing at wait to be seated sign before anyone noticed us. drinks order was incorrect (but put right). food was perfectly cooked. waited for desert order but it was not processed, so we paid and left. decor was a bit tired. i don't like condiments in sachets.

The menu was different to what was advertised on the website. This was disappointing as I was looking forward to the Sunday roast. Just feel it missed little details (eg frozen chips!!) It was rather expensive for the quality of food!

The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was beautiful, steaks cooked to how we like them and the knife just slid through them, chips piping hot and the sides were lovely too. The puddings were beautiful too. We really enjoyed our night there and will be returning!

The service needs to be much better. We were the only table in the restaurant it took 10 mins before the waitresses came to get our drinks order, when they came my glass had lipstick marks all around the rim, I asked for a jug of water for the table and got a pint glass with a straw in??? And when i mentioned it was wrong to the other waitresses she just said, oh right and walked off without changing it. The cutlery was extremely poor quality like I would expect at fast food and the sachets of condiments lower the tone. The food is very good and that's what would bring us back (not frequently as it's at the high end) and as it dosent have great service the pricing is on the high end. I would not have left a tip for service but it was automatically taken as a service charge. Food good, service needs lots of work ..

After seeing all the great reviews we were excited to be visiting. My partners rib eye was 50% fat and my sirloin (asked for medium well) was well done so much the top was black and burnt. The chips were decent and the peppercorn sauce was night. We moved tables as first table was next to a rowdy bunch but the second table was so cold I ended up putting my coat on.

My steak was great but husbands was a bit thinner & slightly over cooked but still enjoyed it. Rocket salad was bland looking as just green leaves of rocket so just something to go with it? Overall enjoyed the experience & would go back

Food was great, but male waiter was very rude. He tutted when we asked to order our starters and mains separately as we needed a little more time. When we wanted more drinks there were no waiters available only to find them outside in the smoking shelter. Great food shame about the service.

Booked a table for 2 for breakfast and was disappointed as the full English was appalling. The sausages were burnt, the toast was burnt and didn’t have any butter and they had run out of eggs so no eggs!! Definitely would not recommend this place at all!!

Wow what an experience visiting the LSSH for our 15 year anniversary lunch Elle was exceptional throughout the whole time we were in the restaurant Customer service should go to 20 above not 10. The mixed grill was phenomenal cooked to perfection with proper produce and presented Beautifully on the large plate..I didn't eat all day after it

service was slower than previously. It would of been nice as they were aware of a birthday on the table to acknowledge it in some small way. daughters desert took a long time and was only icecream but looked like it had melted under the heating lights by the time she got it
