The Commercial Hotel Redbank is one of South East Queensland’s best

An iconic historical pub established around 1910, it has weathered the test

In late 2019 and early 2020 saw the completion of over a million dollars’

What the heck. Just dined at Commercial Hotel bistro for 1st time (12.3.22). Spent 45min all up at our table with non-stop banging from the kitchen. The noise was extremely loud and intrusive. Felt like I was in the middle of a construction site. Sounded like they were pounding something frozen. It was relentless. Really put a damper on our meal. Could that sort of food prep be done before diners arrive? Meal service was fast, which was good. My wife enjoyed her fish and chips. My Caesar salad was subpar. No way close to a traditional Caesar salad. Iceberg lettuce…. really? We wanted to support local business but we won’t be returning.

The only fault I would say on the night was that:
1) It was very hot as the air conditioners were not on
2) The doors were all shut and some of our guest found it to be claustrophobic.
Both these matters were quickly resolved by one of the lovely waitresses. When I requested that one of the doors be open she kindly offered if we would like them all opened.
It made dinning so much more pleasant.
Thankyou to all the staff for a lovely evening. My daughter enjoyed her birthday dinner.

Great idea to be part of the Flavours of Ipswich, we live over the other side of town on the Redcliffe peninsular, and so glad we made the trip out to Ipswich.
Lovely menu, very good quality food and delicious. Excellent staff too, we will be back and are coming again before the end of the festival to try another two courses.

Delicious food! We had the rump steak with chips and salad. Steak was tender and cooked to preference, with generous serving of chips. The salad was great - was more like a salad slaw. That was the first time trying the station steakhouse and will definitely go back again soon!

Our fault, but when we arrived we did not realise that our outside table was right next to the children's play area. Enjoying a pleasant afternoon, then a large group arrived with many small children who were yelling and climbing all over the outside of the equipment, although signs say not to. We thought one was going to go over the fence onto the railway line. But it was fine, we just moved inside when we finished our meals. We can't control people who don't control their children. So for that reason the ambience score is lower, meals were lovely and a beautiful old building.
Will return and next time sit inside or out on the front deck to enjoy the music.

I have rated based on past experiences, not this one. Arrived to find that the kitchen was actually closed due to staffing issue. Although disappointing as we were looking forward to another great meal at the Commercial, this is completely understandable. However, the Table Agent sent a confirmation our booking without any further notification that the kitchen had been closed.

We ordered tender petites (steak) and they were far from tender. We couldn't eat them so bought them home in a doggy bag for the dogs. I informed the waitress of this when we asked for doggy bags and she informed the kitchen staff but we were only given an apology. The guys had the 500g rump and 2 out of 3 were ok but the 3rd was very tough also

Overall it was ok. The music was so loud everyone talked louder over it. My hubby, brother and I all had the chicken snitchels, with different toppings. Mine was ok, my husbands was dry and tough and brothers was a little dry, we all left some of the schnitzel. When telling the waitress, she looked and said well they all the same chicken." I laughed 1 chicken 3 breasts. Anyway, said she would tell the chef, and she never came back. Sad but will not be back.
