Stop Ya Beefin

We found it quite hard to choose our meal from the menu, as it didn't seem obvious what would go with what. I really wanted the spicy beans as a side but couldn't work out what pie and sauce would go with them so opted for mash as I knew it would go. The server didnt know the menu at all so placing our order was a bit haphazard. The food took a bit longer to come than anticipated but the wait wasn't too bad. One of our group was given the wrong order - she was given a plate of sides and no pie. The reason given when this was queried was that the server had written cheesy chips instead of pie, but she was given plain rather than cheesy chips anyway. Another friend had ordered mustard mash but only got plain. My mashed potato portion was tiny. The food was nice though, and we were given some free sides to make up for the confusion. It was good value. However the band sound checking made the ambience unpleasant- we literally had to stop talking as we couldn't hear each other whenever they were sound checking, and we left and went elsewhere instead of getting dessert because of this. Perhaps ensuring that the curtain is drawn all the way along the divide or putting up a board as well would help stop the noise coming through. Overall okay but wouldn't make an effort to go back because of these issues.
