The Brasserie is an unpretentious French/Italian inspired restaurant in Tokai. We focus on providing guests with fantastic, ethically sourced food at family-friendly prices. Our staff pride themselves on friendly, efficient service.

We had the salt and pepper squid. It was a pity that all one could taste was the heavy batter. It was our first time eating, and we both expected the actual squid with tentacles! Not just what seemed like squid flavoured batter! Maybe in future, less batter and bigger squid (as that’s what the menu says)

We had a great evening, everything worked just beautifully. Gold stars to our waiter, and I'm so sorry I didn't get his name but he was quite fabulous - we were a large family table of very different ages and he took our orders so well, the food arrived in very good time and all together and we did explain to him that we started with the dessert and then had our main. the Creme Brulee were quite delicious.

I have only ever had the fish and chips because every time it is so delicious I cannot wait to go back. My fellow diners all enjoyed their meal and we'll be back again soon. There were four of us for lunch at Brasserie on Wednesday. One of our number has dietary needs which were catered for without a fuss.
All four of us being on the wrong side of 70 dithered over the menu enough to frustrate any waitress but ours was patience personified.
Finally, we made our choices of food and drink, and in spite of being warned that the Guineas Pie would take a bit of extra time, all of our orders arrived together. The Brasserie once again met all our expectations of ambiance, awesome cuisine and wonderful service.

We hardly ever go out as a family due to financial reasons. It was so great to be able to enjoy the pizza special and not worry to much about spending money. The food was so yummy and my pizza was the best I have ever had. What we also appreciated was that the kids food was brought out first so we could help them eat and then enjoy our food still hot afterwards. The kids also enjoyed going to a 'fancy' restuarant. AND thank you for your butter spaghetti, my son only eats 'plain' spaghetti so this was an amazing option.

Our waitress was lovely, very attentive - we ensured to tip her well.
We were seated right next to the door/reception desk, so the icy air caught us every time someone entered the restaurant. Tricky one to manage but if whoever is manning the door could ensure it gets closed asap after someone enters, that would help a bit.

Just keep doing what you are doing so well.
Nothing serious but there was a slight confusion in that we had the lunch special which included one drink (wine or beer, etc.). One guest asked if he could have a cold drink in place of this, waiter said yes but we were charged on the bill for the cold drink.
As I say not serious, but one should clarify up front.

It is a great all rounder restaurant. We have had two meals there and both have been super. Excellent service.
Little surprised they don’t have a generator for load shedding which limits the menu but overall great.

We had a great lunch thanks. I would suggest that you get more waiters as our waiter had a huge amount of tables to look after but he kept us informed of delays.
Mandla was a great waiter. We will be back.

The food was excellent - l was so torn as to my choice that l would have liked to sample everything. I settled on the hake which was outstanding. My companions had the beef and Guinness pie and the Pea and Mint risotto which they also
loved.

Always love my Brasserie experience. I understand why they have needed to increase the prices to stay in business, but hopefully they won't price themselves out the market. Roll on alcohol ban removed!!
