Food from kitchen was not 100% correct: Sweet potato instead of baked potato; sweet tea pitcher contained unsweet tea; Steaks (medium rare vs. medium well) were on wrong plates; Shrimp was cooked rare (we brought that home to put in microwave). Server was WONDERFUL. She fixed everything (even adding sugar to make sweet tea herself), but there were obviously problems in the kitchen. Overall a great experience. We enjoyed it. Special was great!

We're noticing we're not getting as much to eat as before, but the price is rising. We go home hungry. It's understood that prices are rising, and also that SOME older folks don't eat as much as they used to, but some of us aren't that old--yet, and still have an appetite. Last night's sweet and sour chicken dinner was very good, as are 99% of the meals we are served, but the chicken pieces were tiny, but the breading was deceiving. I don't know how we can fix this sensitive subject, but there's one server who won't acknowledge that we exist. She doesn't look at us, doesn't always answer questions, seems annoyed at having to answer them, doesn't answer loud or clearer enough to understand, and we don't dare ask for a repeat, as she responds rudely. I have tried to ask her how her day is going, etc., to open up conversation, but she usually doesn't even respond. I feel like we have to walk on eggshells, and it makes the dining experience anything but enjoyable. I understand this person has some type of medical issue, but can't you put her in another capacity, like dealing with take-out orders, bussing tables, or something else. She even seems annoyed when we ask for dessert. I'm quite sociable, and it is hard to deal with those who don't care about us old folks, or seems unhappy with her job. I don't want to pick on her, but there's got to be something else she can do, if she can't be happy when serving us. We have enough issues in our older, daily lives, to have to deal with rudeness and distance when served. Thank you.

Excellent food and really excellent service. I think our server was new - her name was Dae? The only thing about the ambiance is we were near the bar and sometimes you get rattling noise - people taking things back to the kitchen from the pub area or the market cafe. Lovely, lovely dinner. Another delicious meal and a very good experience from the time we arrived until we finished our meal and departed. Even though there were many diners waiting to be seated, we were not encouraged to move on as we finished eating but were allowed to conclude the meal at our pace.

Diamond had a large table with the five of us. We tried to be as pleasant as possible. She already had two tables, and she did an excellent job, even getting “special requests” right like the doneness wanted for a piece of fish, no onions on a salad, two special kinds of wine, etc. She smiled and was very pleasant. She carried two very heavy trays, and there was not a tray stand set up for her to use near our table to put them on. The kitchen got all our orders right, too, and the food was hot and cold appropriately.

There were five of us around the table, celebrating my brother's birthday. I'm afraid we were pretty loud, but Ebony took very good care of us and we all had a delicious meal. I can't think of any restaurant that does a better onion ring than you guys. I had the coconut shrimp with the delectable marmalade/horseradish sauce (which I think you should bottle and sell.) Swordfish, salad and baked potato were good, and swordfish and baked potato were on a big plate. Food came out quickly. Loaded baked potato soup and service were good. We got everything we ordered and had a large table of six. Was surprised that there were no champagne flutes. We got six mismatched wine glasses, and our reservation was at 4:45. We never offered water refills. Tickets came promptly.

We feel the Dinning Room has advanced 1,000% with the new Leadership. Food has been Excellent, but I sure would like to see some changes in the Menu more often. These new fancy names for things don’t impress me at all. I like good old Country cooking. Please bring back some Squash Casserole and Sweet Potato Casserole’s. WE DEFINITELY NEED SOME NICE SOFT DINNER MUSIC IN THE DINNING ROOM.

A very pleasant dinner with four guests. Our server, Kamaka, went out of her way to take care of us, even though she had too many tables to serve. Having bread with the meal was a plus also. The only negative - we didn’t have silver and a napkin until the meal was served so no butter on the bread we ate before our meals arrived.

We are told there is a sound system in there for pleasant music to be played while Dining. We have not heard this yet, and would certainly encourage you to play some nice soft music, or Broadway tunes. It would certainly help the ambiance. We certainly hope the menus will be changing soon, as the same old thing gets old. We had ask that the Shoestring Potatoes be put back on menu, Have requested Broccoli & Cheeses Soup be put on menu quite often, but have not seen it. Overall you are doing an excellent job, and have brought the Food Service up 100%.

Plates in the Buffet line are EXTREMELY HEAVY! Buffets are hard on Handicapped people. Love those new Biscuits! It is amazing with the understaffed situation, that We have all the wonderful service we do. Music in Dining Room needs to be improved and uniform throughout the areas. When having Soup with meal, it should be served first. Food Quality has been Excellent.

The specials r usually good. The service is good. We r sick of the same choices on the menu. Please change the menu choices. My husband has food allergies and can not find enough choices he can eat. We ask for a plain grilled chicken. They say they can do it but it will take a long time to cook it. We don’t want our table friends to have to wait.

Kamala is an excellent server. We enjoyed our dining experience with her. The room was so cold that we had to wear our jackets while eating. I had the chicken pot pie which was a gooey lump, mostly potatoes, topped with a cool phyllo crust. The menu desperately needs to be changed.

Our service from Natalie was excellent. My plate, the pot roast, had half the plate filled with potatoes, not enough vegetables. My general frustration is having food served at lukewarm temperature. Once I tasted it as it was served and sent it back to be heated up. Then I had to wait quite awhile for it to be served again. Is there a microwave oven?

Astin was wonderful! We kept asking questions and he kept getting us answers/people to provide answers. [We were new to Gatehouse.] The jalapena cornbread -- a gift -- was delicious!

the basil lemon salmon was delicious and the portion size was just right. our server was excellent, handling the dining in order and also preparing an order “to go.” the wait wasn’t long as fewer residents were dining at that time.

We had a guest with us and we all had a great experience, our waitress is one of the best on staff. She was very attentive and took time with deserts. Our guest has been looking for a retirement home and she said Aldersgate was the best she had visited. Very proud of Aldersgate.

Service was good. Had the special...grouper. Food was good but seasoning was not my favorite. Fish was good. My dinner partner had the artichoke dip and was disappointed that the "dip" was so thin she could not actually dip it with the pita pieces. Had some last week ...was thick to dip with the "chips". Need to work on consistency of prep so recipes are more nearly the same on different days.generaly the food is much improved since new management came on board.

First, all of the staff are very nice and very helpful. There are two problems I have encountered. One is that food often arrives lukewarm when it should be hot. Second, the grilled chicken is often dried out and tough. The grilled salmon is dried out. The Norwegian Salmon is fine. Thank you for your hard work.
