The Table offers intimate dining experiences that honour the food, culture and history of Prince Edward Island. All meals feature fresh seasonal hyper-local Island ingredients prepared daily by Executive Chef Hunter Guindon and served in the welcoming and beautiful setting of a renovated rural church.
With only 26 seats available each evening at a single-seating, enjoy the comfortable feeling of community as new friends and old gather together at private tables around the dining room to enjoy a meal of rural elegance. With a menu that changes weekly to celebrate the Island’s ever-changing bounty from land and sea, each visit to The Table is a unique culinary experience.

Our group of eight had dinner at The Table October 14th and we all loved the experience and may make it an annual event. Hunter coming to the table and explaining each dish was special. My favourite part was when he brought us the rhubarb juice and alder pepper when we asked what he used in place of lemon juice and black pepper in his quest to only serve local food. We thought it was great value and an experience you can't get anywhere else on PEI.

This experience was truly wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food… Outstanding. They atmosphere… Wonderful and the storytelling about the venue, history of the Table and the absolutely intriguing chefs food descriptions were such a significant addition to the experience !The only thing we would have added is an optional welcome drink… Local sparkling rosé or an optional non-alcoholic drink.

It was so much fun - we just loved it. We opted not to look at the menu so it would all be a surprise and it was so much fun to do that. Only food related comments, aside from oh my G!, is that the mushroom dish we had was a little salty for a couple of us, and we didn't enjoy the dessert as much as the other dishes. But, stellar everything - cannot wait to come again and bring more friends. Thanks to all of you!!!

Could not have asked for a better time at the Culinary Ceilidh! Food was over the top, entertainment was excellent and service was perfect! This is an island experience not to be missed! We all loved how everything was sourced locally and wines were all Canadian. The descriptions of the courses, how prepared and selection of wine pairings was great. Our entire group said they would love to do it again and everyone had so much fun! Mike Pendergast is a great entertainer and so talented! We couldn’t think of anything to change, but one suggestion would be to add a brief description during the Welcome by Derrick about the history of the building and how it evolved into the present day Venue. Otherwise, our hats are off to everyone for an excellent evening! Thank you!

So, we had a lovely experience. The food was superb and Chef Hunter was a dream. I would definitely recommend the entire experience as a 'special' event for food lovers and to people who are looking for a 'new' experience in dining.
A couple of things I will note, because you have asked....
I was not aware of the cost of the meal, and may have missed it on the website, but was not completely surprised when I rec the bill at the end of the night. I would suggest at least a price range on the site somewhere to give folks a heads up.
Also, as my husband is allergic to shell fish, and I had appreciated that there was a place where we could note that. It would have been very helpful to know in advance that those who have noted allergies would be offered alternatives because when we arrived and looked at the menu and saw both scallops and clams on the menu, my husband was distressed. Even speaking to the server did not relieve his concerns that there would be shellfish in the meals. She was professional, however it felt like we 'should have known better' than to question if he would be offered an alternative..... and considering the cost, I would suggest more clarity on this as well.
We attended in honor of our wedding anniversary, and it was a great choice in my opinion. I especially enjoyed listening to Hunter and his quest for excellency. In addition, I thought it was extra special that he was open to sharing 'all his secrets' and I did get the recipe for the green goddess dip... I can't wait to try it.

Every visit to PEI the first call is to book my reservation at The Table. It is a bucket list experience and worth every penny! I have visited 3 times now and it is always the highlight of my trip! Every person should experience this at least once! When you taste local ingredients prepared by an award winning chef you are spoiled for life. Our night at The Table was absolutely amazing. The staff was simply incredible. It was like being invited to our friend’s place for a great meal and night out. The meal was more than we could have ever imagined and expected. The fact that the chef as well as the owner chatted with us during the meal was so welcoming. The explanations before every course enabled us to better understand their passion for what they do and savour every bite of each course. What an exceptional evening. An absolute must when in PEI!!

Food and wine pairing was fabulous! A thoroughly enjoyable and unforgettable experience. Minute comments would be that table was slightly uncomfortable with large block base ( especially in a dress and with knee issues). Whole experience was very special. We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and could not have asked for a better meal. The only criticism is that at the end of the meal the coffee and tea should be included for the price. Also the price is quite high and is not something we would do on a regular basis. Awesome Dinner Experience! So many different tastes to absorb in one evening and each taste was exceptional.
The amount of preparation and care taken in each course of the dinner was evident and the explanations given prior to each course were excellent as well.
As for a suggestion, as I mentioned to Chef Hunter before we left, I thought it would have been nice if, after you had visited each table you mentioned to the room where each dinner party was visiting from.

Although pricey, I wouldn't change a thing. Chef Hunter and the team are doing something really cool. They are only cooking and serving local ingredients grown or caught in the area (within 15 mins). So no lemon, lime, vanilla, etc… but they love the challenge of getting creative. The wine and beer list were only Canadian too. Chef explained every dish with the wine pairings and stopped to chat with each table multiple times. There is only one service per night for a max of 27 people. Never been to a dinner with applause until this. Absolutely unforgettable!

Wow, what a great experience. From the first sip of our Benjamin’s Bridge Brut bubbles, to the last bit of our honey cheesecake, blueberry pie filling,

One of the best meals we have had in our international travels. Congrats to chef Hunter and the team. A very quaint, intimate and unassuming setting in a repurposed country church representing all that P.E.I entails, warmth, cooperation and a down to earth love of the land brought to a level of Michelin star excellence. The flavour of every ingredient came trough. Brilliant, creative good for the soul cuisine.
Congrats to the owners for such a unique undertaking and for the overall friendly atmosphere that made us feel like a welcomed part of the family. A true Canadian experience that should be celebrated and shared.

So enjoyed the experience. Food was delicious and so creative. Chef Hunter was personable, informative and obviously very talented. With that I would like to share some of our suggestions. The portions were small. Even if each course was a couple of bites bigger that would be great. Of course the food was so good you want more and I do understand with so many courses you need to pace yourself but we all left and discussed that we were not going home full. Even those with no dietary restrictions.
For my husband and I with a shellfish restriction we were given a very petit salad, delicious, but missed the substance of that course and with my “main” the scallops were just left off the plate with no extra portion of veggies to offset the missing portion. I was left feeling disappointed that I just hadn’t taken them and passed them on to the rest of my party as nothing “extra” was given to compensate and others were left wanting more.
I think it could be fair to assume that one course might not be to a persons taste and that there should be enough food on the other 6 courses that you couldn’t possibly be left less than full.
So we very much enjoyed the experience but for me next time I would want to know in advance of the cancellation period that every course was appealing.
I also would be happier to pay more if I knew the portions were going to be larger.
Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to give you the feedback from our table which was overwhelmingly positive on all other aspects of the evening. From venue, service, to chef Hunter and to the amazing quality of the food. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Amazing experience! Personal touch with chef was great. Never experienced that contact before. Food amazing and so nice to know how each dish was made and ingredients! Also liked that everything used to create meal was from the island. Overall was very nice evening. The music gave it that extra touch. Very personable singer, loved his stories about the island!

We completely enjoyed our evening. The meal was so wonderful: such a clever array of courses and ingredients. I tried foods I've never had before and familiar foods offered in new ways. Your chef is such a gift - take good care of him! Mike Prendergast was a delightful addition to the evening. We're still talking about. Thank you, Derrick and Christine - we're grateful to have The Table in our neighbourhood!

Overall, very well done, and I'll return next summer. But it was slightly better in 2021. For this meal, I deducted a couple of points for the tough, overcooked fish in the chowder and the tough ravioli.

I would advise making portion sizes bigger so that guests can go home full! But regardless the ambience, food, hospitality and overall experience was divine.

What a lovely experience! Loved it so much however several of the food courses were quite cool in temperature especially the meat /potato turnip dish …..although the flavour was amazing. If the plates were warm when the food is being plated ..that would certainly help !.. otherwise it was flawless !!

We thought the food was so incredible! Every course left you wanting more!
The chef was friendly, interesting and enthusiastic. He was very interactive with the customers.
The owners seem a little tired and low energy. I’m sure been a long 2 yrs making huge, seasonal decisions with COVID. But for this kind of unique dining experience, I think it’s imperative to speak to all the customers table side for a few minutes to enhance the experience.
The only other ‘constructive’ criticism we had was, we would recommend that the courses come out faster. I don’t want to rush through this grand, beautiful meal but 3 plus hrs is too long!
All said-we will be back to enjoy the fresh meats, chicken ,cheeses and garden delicacies!

Overall our experience at The Table was great but I couldn’t eat one of the courses because it was much to fishy tasting for me and the cost pp was much too high in our opinion for the amount of food that was served. Something closer to $80 pp would have seemed more reasonable and justifiable than the $125 we paid. Don’t think we will return because of price and the fact that there is no flexibility within the menu.
