Reservations are required in advance and confirmed with payment. Due to the extensive planning and staffing for these excursions, we do not refund for reservations within 30 days of the event. Frequently Asked Questions- Can I have a private table for 2 guests?
- Yes. Private dining for 2 guests is available in at $125 per guest (+ Tax and service fee). Seating is limited. Please make your request for a private table of 2 guests at the time of your reservation. All requests are honored on a first come basis.
- How do I make a reservation for a large party?
- Tables can seat a maximum of 4 guests. If you have a larger party, you will need to break up your reservations into numbers of four (4) or less. Although tables can NOT be moved, your group may be seated at adjoining tables. Just make a note in the "Special Request" seated box at the time of the reservation and we will do our best to accommodate you and will confirm your request by email. - What dates are available for the Wine Train?
- We are offer wine dinner excursions usually the third Thursday of each month. Some months have more dates. Our 2024 schedule is posted on our our website Private parties are available for other dates. Please email or call us for inquiries on booking a private Wine Train excursion. - Can I book a private Wine Train excursion for my company or group?
- Absolutely. We have blocked a number of available dates for private wine dinner excursions. Please email or call us to inquire about booking your next party or event. [email protected] 423.370-2559
- I am trying to make a reservation for 2 but the system says there are none unavailable.
- Some of our tables are arranged for parties of 3-4 people. Parties of 2 are not available at these tables. If you are unable to book a table for two (2), it is likely because they are all booked for that date and we only have tables for 3-4 available. Solution: Invite your neighbors or best friends and make it a party of four!
- Can I bring my kids?
- Yes, if your kid is 21 years old. Per TN Law, no guest under 21 is permitted on the Wine Train.
- Do you offer Gluten-Free or Vegetarian Options?
- The roast beef may be served without sauce to make it gluten -free and the vegetarian lasagna is offered for vegetarians. We do not have vegan options. Please make a note in "Request/Occasion" box when making reservation.
- What sights will I see from Dinner Train?
- As a key route for passenger and industrial service in the early and mid-20th century, this historic excursion line begins on a pre-Civil War route crossing four bridges and through the Missionary Ridge Tunnel. As the train makes its way past East Chattanooga, additional sights that can be viewed from the train include the Chattanooga Zoo established in 1937 and the Warner Park fields, previously called “Olympia Park” near the turn of the 20th century
- Is there a dress code for the Wine Train?
- We do not have a formal dress code for the dinner train, but most passengers seem to enjoy dressing up a bit. We do ask that gentlemen remove their hats while dining on the train.
- Is the Wine Train accessible for wheelchairs?
- Historic rail cars and stations were built before the advent of technology accommodating people with special needs. Our rail cars were not designed to accommodate wheelchairs safely. The ADA recognizes the limitations of such historic rail equipment and expressly exempts these trains and stations from accessibility requirements. Though we cannot accommodate wheelchair access within our historical passenger cars, all persons who can board the train themselves are welcome to ride.

- Is there room for a camper truck or trailer in the parking lot?
- The TN Valley Railroad has a large parking lot with plenty of room. Only on the busiest of days there might not be convenient parking for over-sized vehicles such as Day Out With Thomas or other special events. Please note: No overnight parking is permitted.
- Can I smoke on the Wine Train?
- Smoking is prohibited on all trains and in all stations by State law.
- If we are running late, will you hold the train for us?
- Unfortunately, as much as we try to accommodate all our visitors, we generally can’t delay a train full of passengers. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Note that Chattanooga is in the Eastern Time Zone.
- Is the Wine Train air conditioned or heated?
- Our rail cars are air-conditioned and heated. A few cars have adjustable windows which are raised to allow airflow.
- Can I get up and walk around the train?
- Depending on operating conditions, passengers can move about on the train.
