We had a fantastic meal at Fifty in Looe. They were bedding in a new chef, so had limited the number of diners on the night, so we were glad that we had booked. The food was exceptional, as was the service. The member of staff serving us was very welcominh, friendly, and very knowledgeable around the menu, which ensured that we had a great experience to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary.

It was a very dark and very rainy night and we were most grateful for the warm atmosphere and friendly welcome to 50. We chose crab and scallop starters, with a red on the side for him and a brilliant new non alcoholic Shore Break Hazy IPA for me - it’s always heartening to find restaurant that takes the time to find good alternative drinks. The starters were perfect in presentation, size, and taste, as were our mains of chicken and sea bass which arrived after a proper interval. We were finally tempted by the chocolate mousse which was delightfully original in presentation, texture, and flavour. We checked the lunch menu on our way out and we will be back for lunch or dinner as soon as we can invent a suitable excuse.

We visited on the 20th February in the evening. This was our first visit to the restaurant, the staff were very friendly, and we had a wonderful meal. The food was presented beautifully. No cha ges needed to any of our experience. We will be back on our next trip down for sure.

Lovely restaurant, it was the first time we’d eaten there but won’t be the last. The food was excellent especially the caramelised sprout and honey soup, yes it’ doesn’t sound appealing but it was truly wonderful. Very attentive staff but not over bearing and clean well presented surroundings. I would definitely recommend 50 to family and friends.

We had a very enjoyable evening in this cosy bistro. Food, ambience and service were very good. My husband certainly enjoyed his fillet steak which was beautifully cooked as was my hake fillet dish. Unfortunately, we did not have room for desserts! My thanks to the chef and kitchen staff, and to Anthony who was front of house.

We had a fabulous anniversary meal at Fifty. Our server was brilliant, handling the whole busy restaurant on his own. He was friendly and attentive. The chef tweaked a dish for me and the food overall was incredible - beautiful flavours. We would definitely go back!

Because it's such a small restaurant if some of the guests are loud this can make it difficult to talk to each other as a couple. This is what we experienced, however the food and service was 5 stars ⭐. Will definitely be back. Well done team 50.

Beautiful food and quality produce. Quite hard to fault but we did feel the one server could have done with some help. Although he was outstanding he was single handedly sorting out the seating, menus, drinks, orders and also taking bookings for other nights. He was amazing to do as well as he did but we did feel some people becoming impatient whilst waiting. I would 100 percent return and recommend but to make an amazing experience absolutely perfect a little help would go a long way.

Had a great meal, I can recommend the trio of pork, my wife loved her starter of Thai style beef. Warning though, you really need to book in advance, it's a small restraunt which is part of its charm and makes the service so personal.

Justin ( I believe that is his name) does an excellent job at the front of the house even greeting you by name on arrival…..and the last time we were there was May ‘24. We asked for our compliments to be shared with the chef who we believe did an excellent job on the duck and fillet we had for our mains…..and as for the starters the beef salad and scallops were both delicious. Excellent all round and we will not be waiting another year before we return. Thanks Christine and Nick

Wonderful experience! Very warm friendly welcome from all staff. Small but varied menu, all options sounded delicious but I was very happy with my choice( trio of pork) which was cooked and presented perfectly! My husband chose the cod served with pepperonata which had the perfect amount of spice! A great little find! Highly recommend!

Service was excellent, glass of prosecco for a member with a birthday was lovely. Food was excellent, beautifully presented. Only let down for me, 2 desserts had Mango, not my favourite fruit, and as I thought a mango cream for Eton mess would be sweet with less flavour I chose the semi freddo which I had hoped the mango coulis would b in a small jug. Instead it was smothered. The mango flavour jarred with the rich chocolate. A berry coulis would have been much better. Thanks for a great overall experience

A very friendly welcome and service, pleasant atmosphere once more people arrived. Great music tracks as we’re old enough to appreciate 60s and 70s, but a bit loud. Food clearly freshly cooked and delicious, could have done with fewer butter beans with the chicken, a trifle overwhelming. All in all very nice.

I enjoyed my visit to 50 the service was impeccable. We had a problem with the booking system where the table got cancelled the day before we were going automatically when we never cancelled. Fortunately we were able to go in and correct this with the owners , but this wasn’t our best first impression of a place for our first visit . I has pork cooked 3 ways and unfortunately I felt the pork with the crackling was slightly over cooked which was a little disappointing. Eating here was quite expensive. In fact the dearest place we dinned in whilst in Looe for a long weekend for my wife’s birthday . What Bel had she really enjoyed and as it was her birthday that’s what’s important. We do eat out quite regularly back home in Dorset so are able to compare . Thank you

Well it's got my vote for the best food around!!!! We eat out lots and also with my lunch mates twice a week, I always find the restaurants very underwhelming, I can cook better myself! But celebrating our anniversary at "50" was a great choice, I had 4 starters and shared 1 sooooooooo good!!! Nigel had the steak and wasn't disappointed!! So there is a couple of little things, feedback on the chips! He described them as a roast potatoe, quite dry, and didn't really enjoy them, however they were presented beautifully. It was very warm in the restaurant and I don't know if you've noticed, we were sat at the table next to the post by the bar, the floor bounces every time the waiter walked past us with food which was a bit annoying whilst eating or taking a sip of my drink ,

Enjoyable experience- very friendly frint of house team. Not the quickest to get the meal but my Morroccan chicken was very well flavoured. The plaice was good albeit a tad bland but that might be our taste. By far the nicest meal we experienced in the area. Not cheap but we paid solid money for ordinary food in the local restaurants/pubs and it was worth spending a bit more. Recomended

A little bit cramped seating. Waitress service first class. I had lemon sole which was lovely but the potatoes were overcooked and the dill sauce didn’t taste of dill. Sticky toffee pudding was far too big and overpriced. Other people had spaghetti which they said was excellent. Just a bit more care with the food would improve the experience.

No Duck, lamb and fish of the day. One customer allowed their dog to sit on a chair at the table. Disgusting, I’m sure environment health would not accept.
