In addition to our handmade pastas and brick oven pizzas, our dishes are inspired by classic Italian ingredients and preparations.
Our extensive menu holds something for everyone. Great food. Great service. Place looks very cool.
The front room is all glass and has terrible acoustics. For some reason the management is blasting music like it is a downtown club scene. Everybody is yelling at each other to be heard. Not relaxing. Asked for the music to be turned down. They moved it from a 10 to a 9. Place has potential. Sit in the back and bring earplugs.

Fabulous meal. We had charred octopus, raw tuna, and linguine with white clam sauce. The best white clam sauce in town. We will definitely return again. The only improvement we can suggest is something to soften the general acoustics. We were there on a Sunday and it was not packed. Noise level was okay but we can image that on a Saturday night it might be a little loud.

SUGO was highly recommended by a friend and my granddaughters, daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed the setting and the lunch. The $17.95 lunch was a delicious “good deal.” We had 2 pm appointments and the staff made sure we finished up in time.

Table for 2 was small and close to the table next to us. A little noisy by the speakers at the bar for my husband who wears hearing aides. Will ask for another area next time. My meal (chicken special) was outstanding. Our shared Sugo salad was dissapointing-dressing had no flavor. I added salt which I never do. Loved our server. Overall-we enjoyed and will be back.

The first time I. Suited I had the fixed price lunch with the Salmon. It was a 10!
Brought a friend the second time. Again for lunch, but tried the eggplant. I’m usually not critical but it was awful, like shoe leather. I could barely cut it. It seemed like it was deep fat fried.
My friend had the chicken parm. Also mediocre. Salads were good gelato was good. Service was excellent.
Go try eggplant at Quattro Osteria! You definitely need improvement on that dish. Enjoyed atmosphere.

The good first, restaurant was nice. It replaced our old go to restaurant. Food very good, nice job on the interior. Seemed like it would be a good first time experiance. The bad, being a big music lover and having worked in stage and sound, walked in to a very talented singer. The problem was they had the volume way way to high. We couldn't here te staff, our guests, only LOUD music. I politely went to the front and asked if they could turn the volume down a bit. Now I am half deaf and like loud music where and when appropriate. The manager refused and said they couldn't turn it down because whe was a vocalist. What? She had a mixer with lots of voume controls, We would all go there to eat again, but go when there is no music or wear ear protection.

Fabulous lunch experience. We had an excellent waiter. He was polite, personable and very professional. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our three course lunch. The food was fresh, high quality and delicious. Presentation was beautiful. Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The price fix lunch offered a good value and a variety of choices for all tastes. We all agreed to come to Sugo again, soon for dinner, with family and friends. Our only complaint was that it was so loud. Tables are kind of close together. A large party behind us was "outdoor" loud and we couldn't hear each other at our own table. Maybe separate large groups from smaller parties. Other than that, it was a great experience. Almost perfect. Thanks for listening. I am a Sandy Hook resident and am so glad to see such a great establishment added to my town. I wish you longevity and lots of luck and success.

Food and service were outstanding! Interior (we were on porch area) is lovely! Love what you have redone there. Acoustics were a major issue the night of June 1. There was a table of 9 VERY loud patrons at the glass area near the pathway( I know that is out of your control) making it impossible to have a conversation at our table. Wondering if it might be better to keep larger groups in a larger space (ie-not the porch area) Noticed other guests were also very disturbed by this large group's oblivion to their volume disturbing others on the porch. Would also love to see a canopy over the patio, perhaps for outside dining. (Just a suggestion).

Sugo was decorated beautifully for the holidays! All four of us had the Prix Fixe lunch and we all enjoyed our selections. The wine and drinks were overpriced. Standouts were the arugula salad and the calamari appetizer. We sat in the back by the bar and it was a bit dark, even on a bright day. We would have preferred to see the place lit a bit better to appreciate the beautiful decor even more.

Great menu and very good service. However, the music that they were playing in the background was too loud and made you think you were in some dance club. Most people over the age of 50 like me did not appreciate it. Shows me that management is really not tuned in to reality. Also, sitting out in the patio room can be extremely noisy especially from the self-centered, millennials cackling, as if they’re the only people in the restaurant. Very annoying. Next time I will only request the bar room area.

Overpriced- all hype. Wait staff was not personal (not rude, just no personality). When we dine out, we go for the "experience" as much as the food- in hopes of fining that hidden gem. Wide open, no ambiance. This is another (all too common) place that serves mediocre-bar food (cheap-inferior quality) and wants Greenwich $ and a thank you for serving it. No thanks. The food was terrible. Who makes Carbonara with cream, gives 4 tiny slices of bread (3 people) (never offer to replenish- with a bowl of olive oil with a few pepper flakes, salad on warm plates and soggy calamari dredged in flour? A: Only cooks who don't have formal training and an owner that shouldn't be in the restaurant biz. We disliked everything- typical overpriced bar food. I give them 1 year and they will be gone-

Garry, It is difficult to hear your experience with us was such a disappointment. We thoroughly understand our ambiance and/or menu may not be right for everyone, but that doesn't mean we ever stop short of doing whatever we can to make things right while you are dining with us. Your feedback is valuable, as is all feedback, and we thank you for taking the time to be unapologetically honest with us. Perhaps the biggest let down (for us) is that we were unaware of how poorly your experience was going while you were in the restaurant. If our owners/managers were given the opportunity to rectify a meal you were unsatisfied with and listen to your concerns, perhaps we could have prevented you from leaving with a negative first impression. It is always challenging to find out about an experience such as yours after the fact and not have the opportunity to communicate openly and sincerely, face to face. Our owners are heavily involved in all we do and take the time to read the feedback our guests provide us with at all 9 of our restaurants. If they have learned nothing after 15 years of owning, operating, and expanding businesses in the hospitality industry, it is that we aren't always going to get it right - but we are always going to try. Their standards and expectations for service and the guest experience do not fluctuate - whether someone is eating at one of our locations in Shelton, Fairfield, New Haven, or Newtown. And while we understand we failed to deliver that experience for you, we certainly hope that a year from now, we will be able to welcome you back and earn your business. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. We love Sugo and chose to spend our first wedding anniversary there for dinner. The server was top-tier. I love Sugo, the food is fabulous, the service is terrific, the decoration inside is great.
However, one big negative - the acoustics inside is too loud and is unacceptable. Music is definitely nice but needs to be lowered a bit. The noise from people and movement bounces off the walls and comes back to the tables. Conversation is difficult. Perhaps some kind of buffer on the walls that absorbs sound and does not bounce back.

Food was great! Loved the Brussel sprouts appetizer, minus the truffle. Tuna salad was delicious! My friends’ basalmico pizza looked amazing and she really enjoyed it. Drink service was very slow.

Definitely loud and dealing with some opening pains. The food runner tried to deliver appetizers to us when we still had our menus because we hadn’t even ordered yet and our water glasses weren’t even been filled. The food was OK. My veal Milanese was so thin that a third of it was over cooked and as tough as shoe leather.

Server was great. Service was slow because it was understaffed. The chicken parm was small portion and the pasta wasn’t good with it. Linguini was too wine tasting and not savory. Sugo cake was exceptional. I wouldn’t go back

Our party of 4 (again) had a wonderful experience at Sugo! We went for lunch and ordered from the lunch special menu (3 of the 4 of us). Food was great all around; atmosphere was festive for the holidays; service was fantastic - Hannah did a great job, despite the restaurant being very busy. We had been for dinner twice before. Sugo is a gem!

My friend got very sick in the middle of the night last night, (I will spare the details), we had dinner last night, sat outside which was nice, we shared the appetizers, but had our own entree, and dessert, for the pre fix. I had no problem, otherwise all was good, drinks a little pricey, for their weakness with alcohol, really did not taste much, I had the mule.

Our waitress Erin was kind, professional, and attentive. The best service I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time!!
Fried artichokes were over salted.
Branzino salad - I had this at lunch at Sugo a month ago and the piece of fish was much bigger at lunch than dinner and the dinner price was more.
Sugo cake was probably the most amazing dessert I’ve ever tasted!!
Lights kept dimming and then going higher.
Overall we had an awesome time!!!

We were sitting in the front room, with all the windows, we had an 11am reservation and everyone at my table felt it was very cold in there the whole time and kept their jackets on. Everything else was fantastic.

I had the linguini carbonara and typically there isn't mushrooms in it. Also, there was some other sort of veggie that I couldn't decipher. It was good but it could have been better. Also, when presented with the check the "book" is cheap and awful. Please change that . . . . it comes across as stingy. Thanks.
