From Mazz's email confirming my booking and answering all my questions, to leaving the restaurant full and happy, this was an excellent experience. The dining room is casually comfortable, with the buzz that only a room full of happy diners can create. The food is fresh and plentiful, imaginative and tasty. My mussel starter was perfectly cooked, my Dad said the smoked mackerel was delicious. My main was the thickest piece of stone bass, expertly cooked and served with patatas bravas and chorizo, amongst other complementary accompaniments. The rest of our party enjoyed huge portions of dressed crab served with sublimely crisp chips, warm bread, a salad of leaves & pink grapefruit and a pot of aioli. We were too full for puddings, but have booked to return for the second visit this week to try the Sunday lunch. Highly recommended

We were really impressed with the quality of food at this bijou restaurant. Our starter of Crispy beef with an Asian salad was delicious and spicy. The main of Lingiune with mussels and tiger prawns was equally tasty and a very generous serving. The freshness of the ingredients was evident. I hope this special restaurant is able to survive this turbulent time for small businesses as the food quality is amongst the best I've tasted, including Michelin starred restaurants. I hopexits still thriving when we visit Woolacombe again next year.

We have eaten here a few times whilst on holiday and considered it one of the better places to eat. However the last couple of times the service has been very slow. This time we booked for 8.00pm and got our main course around 9.30pm which isn’t really acceptable. The restaurant was very busy and there were only two people attending customers. Obviously places are short staffed but there was no apology about the waiting time.
I was disappointed with my linguine as I wouldn’t expect to have to find and peel prawns in an oily bowl of pasta - much better to serve them already peeled. We felt underwhelmed by this dining experience and as it’s a treat to eat out, might think twice about booking again. It feels as if the restaurant are accepting too many bookings and aren’t actually able to cope. The table behind us appeared to get their meals separately and even their accompaniments arrived at different times.
Also two extra drinks were added to our bill without much of an apology (£21!). Having said all that we did still give a 10% tip on top of the bill which wasn’t really deserved.

Overall, as enjoyable a restaurant experience as one could hope for. Unpretentious, exquisite food. Helpful, knowledgeable staff (spot on wine pairing suggestions). The lobster was so great it should've been on the news!
