Great service in this lovely 7ish table cafe. Amazing scones, beautifully presented with the sweetest strawberries and lashings of cream and jam. Thank you!

On entering the Boutport Cafe the impact was less impressive than I had expected: a smaller cafe off the secondary street in Barnstaple town centre. Now the staff and service were fine, and the food offering and pricing acceptable, the slightly odd part was the country and western music backdrop. I was in a fairly emotionally vulnerable state, so maybe they actually fitted, but otherwise this would not normally be a plus for me. If the operators love the music, that is fine for me, but it just seemed a little off note. To give an idea of my musical expectations some current day British folk would of been fine, or something more charts based back to the 80's/early 90's. Kate Bush probably would of had me in tears, as would Whitney Houston. To be honest, I will probably try one of the more expensive venues in Barnstaple for my next booking.
