Went to the Rose & Crown for Mother’s Day. The roast was fantastic, atmosphere was perfect (nice and chilled) and the staff were really helpful. Will definitely be going here again.

Greeted straight away. Friendly staff. Server explained dishes/specials. Our friends were late due to traffic issues. No problem with this and we were not rushed at all. Clean restaurant & bar area. Would definitely visit again. We were not asked about allergies although none of us experience allergy problems. But maybe this question should be asked.

We got a warm welcome in this friendly pub. Good choice on menu (I can recommend the delicious chicken Cajun burger and divine chocolate brownie). Good value for money. Most importantly, friendly, helpful staff. We had a lovely evening.

Staff couldn't have been more helpful to us with one of our party being in a wheelchair. Our group who had roast beef didn't enjoy the meat but everything else was good.

We booked Sunday lunch after reading the reviews and were not disappointed. The service was friendly, and prompt and it is beautiful old pub. The quality of Sunday Lunch was superb and great value for money. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this venue.

We very much enjoyed visiting and eating at the Rose and Crown on 4 June 2022. We chose this after a search on rankings, the menu, ambience and value. After that we went to Batemans, very close by. A great day.

Had the fish pie which was very nice. Veg is veg but broccoli spears were very al dente so I couldn’t eat them. Only had the florets. Liked the dish but I think it didn’t justify the £16 cost. My wife did enjoy her meal, and we would return.

Two of us had the game pie was nice and the veg were a great improvement on a few weeks ago. Perhaps the brocolli was a little under cooked and the cauliflower the opposite. Donna a good host as usual.

We loved sitting by the log file . the staff were very friendly. The beer and food were good. The only thing we were disappointed in was our food pie of the day and sausage and mash were listed as served with seasonal veg, turned out to be just peas . Not what we imagined.

I booked on line for 16.45 arrived 16.50 to be told kitchen closes in 10mins. Had to rush to order food. It did not say anything on website about kitchen being closed by 5pm. Having said that food and service was great .

The two dishes we would have chosen were already off the menu at 7pm (fish and chips, and sea bass). Vegetarian choice was very limited but a veggie Wellington was found somewhere in the depths of the freezer. Service was charming and reasonably prompt.

Husband enjoyed beers on tap and the wine list looked great, but food was very slow to be served and while fine, it had little to make it more than fine. Happy to be in a pub where dogs are welcome inside and out.
