The second of McCartans' award-winning pub restaurants, The Roebuck Inn was refurbished and reopened in 2016. Located in the heart of Laughton village since sometime in the 16th Century, this family favourite offers a full restaurant menu that starts with breakfast [from 9am] to dinner [last orders at 8.45pm].
This traditional if not a little qwerky village pub also plays host to a large and picturesque outdoor eatery, play area, garden and chill out, not to mention being home to our two micro pigs - Bramble & Primrose, a Koi Carp plunge pool as well as a number of truly free-range hens.
In addition, we offer 4 beautiful and self contained, en-suite guest rooms which have fast become a favourite with the Glyndebourne crowd, as well as an event hall and theatre that not only features a range of our own entertainments throughout the year but is also available for private hire, weddings, parties and other events.

Frequently Asked Questions- Do you allow dogs in the Roebuck Inn?
- We most definitely welcome pets and are huge dog-lovers ourselves. We provide watering stations throughout the building as well as a variety of dog grooming and walking services for our overnight guests. We only ask that you make sure your pets are well-behaved and well-socialised, under control at all times and do not interfere with or affect the enjoyment of other guests. Please also bear in mind we are a family-friendly business so all animals must be tolerant of children.
- Are there facilities for horses at The Roebuck Inn?
- We have places to tie up your horses and watering stations at the front of the building. We do ask, however, that you stay with your horse at all times and would point out that we are a busy venue with cars, vehicles, children and guests coming and going throughout the day and your horse should be happy and calm in this type of environment. All animals are the sole responsibility of their owners. We cannot accept any responsibility for their behaviour or welfare whilst on our property.
- Are children welcome at The Roebuck?
- Of course! We welcome children wholeheartedly and offer a children's menu as well as a variety of main menu dishes in child-size portions. We also provide child seats, baby-changing facilities, activity sheets and other forms of entertainment for our younger guests. We only ask that children are well-behaved and under the control of their guardians at all times and that their behaviour does not interfere with or affect the enjoyment of other guests visiting us.
- How close is The Roebuck to the Glyndebourne Festival Site?
- Our guest-rooms are very popular with Glyndebourne Festival goers. It is about 5 miles door to door and takes approximately 10 minutes to drive between the two locations. With advance notice we can arrange taxi's for our guests and also offer a range of picnic options for guests. Let us know if you are visiting Glyndebourne in advance and we can arrange a variety of services to make sure your experience as easy, low fuss and enjoyable as possible.

- We have a large car park and off-street parking facilities for the complimentary use of our guests.

- We have a large and versatile 'Baronial Hall' adjacent to the main bar - which can be hired as part of the larger venue or as a private and self-contained venue. It is a very popular venue for private parties, celebrations and weddings and in the Summer months we also offer the private use of part of our beautiful garden area at the rear of the pub. Private hirers also benefit from preferential guest room rates as well as a fantastic range of bar and catering options for any event budget.
