What a lovely evening! The menu has plenty of variety, the fish could not be fresher, the cooking is sublime... A small, well curated wine list gives just enough choice at decent prices. The venue is small, good decor, intimate enough for good cheer between tables but not overly noisy or invasive. Overall a very memorable experience and we will definitely be back. Top marks!

What a gem. Only stayed in Tarbert for one night and was so glad to have spotted this delightful eatery whilst planning our trip. There is a wonderful atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. Staff were very friendly and efficient, and the food was excellent. Would recommend The Anchorage to anyone stopping in Tarbert.

We had a lovely meal in the Anchorage Bistro. We shared 3 starters between the two of us, scallops, crab and the largest langoustines I've if ever seen, and then had the mixed fruit crumble with custard. All washed down with the very nice bottle of white wine. Will definitely be back.

I have done a complimentary review on TripAdvisor. I really enjoyed my meal, hence the high marks here. The food was excellent, ambience relaxed and friendly and the service was super. I'm very glad that I booked. I was passing through Tarbert with work and am not often in the area, but I will definitely come back next time. In terms of feedback, it's possible that I missed it, but it would be great to have the menu on the website and Facebook page (it wasn't coming up when I looked at the website on my phone). I suspect that quite a few potential customers, like me, often check what's on the menu of restaurants before they book, so that would be a helpful thing to do. I appreciate that the menu will change, but an indicative menu would be all that's needed. It just gives people a sense of the excellent food and drink that the restaurant offers. If I'm honest, I thought that the prices were quite low for the quality of food, so that would come across too.

My husband and I were visiting the Tarbert area and our B&B hostess recommended the Anchorage Bistro. It was excellent. The meal itself was one of the best meals we have had thus far in Scotland, but the service and atmosphere was beyond. If we ever make it to that gorgeous and friendly village again, we will absolutely book in!

Being fortunate enough to live in Tarbert with the best food produce available to buy every day; it can be difficult to eat out at times as we are so spoilt with what we eat every day. Fortunately; Paul changes his varied menu regularly and serves up dishes we do not make at home. This hits the mark with us and friends who also have the same 'problem' of having the best larder ever Well done Paul. We love your varied, fresh food, your very lovely restaurant and you're not too bad yourself.

The team went above and beyond for our wedding anniversary which topped off a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and a good portion size and the ambiance was brilliant. I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone visiting Tarbert.
