Sorry, but $40 (My half of the bill) was ridiculous for a grilled cheese and a cup of tomato soup. It just wasn’t special enough to charge that much.
The waitress was perfect, she could not have been better. In fact, I made an error when giving her the tip. I’d had a $50 gift certificate and she took that off the bill. I only had to put $30ish on my debit card. I mistakenly gave her 20% of the remainder and I’ll have to drop off more for her at some point. She deserves it.

We are travelling and from Washington state, USA. Our inn keeper highly recommend that we eat at Dickie Baxter, so we did. Twice! It was an interesting menu and difficult to decide but given nearly everyone in the room were eating the Korean nachos, we ordered them. They were such an amazing taste treat! We shared them and unfortanetly too full to order another dish. We did manage to share a dessert, and it was equally tasty. We made reservations for our next night in town and the food was superb. My husband and I agree that it is one of the, if not the best food that we have ever eaten in a restaurant. For such a small village to have such a fine dining experience is rare, but we could tell that they have a loyal following. Our waitresss, Katrina, was a kick and only added to our wonderful experience!

Great food and great server. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The chowder was the best we've ever had. The best PEI mussels we’ve had and we’ve been in Nova Scotia for a month. The only thing we didn’t like was the mushroom grilled cheese sandwich. The mushroom couldn’t be chewed, very tough. Highly recommend this place.

We visit the Annapolis Valley most summers . Your restaurant is a new reason we will come back. The youthful joy of your servers , the presentation and taste of your food , sitting outside on the deck and not being rushed made for a wonderful night. The ratings bar stays at a 10 on every category. This was our first visit, the food was incredible, and our server was second to none. Very personable, and did an excellent job managing the room while working alone. She was quite busy but managed to get get every course out on time, with a very friendly, professional manner. Not sure you can make things any better. All was well. Katrina was enthusiastic, good sense of humor and most pleasant to chat with. The food was perfect. There was a table of 10 that did not show up and did not cancel, what a pity and a waste of resources. Not sure what can be done about this, hoping you keep track of this. Fantastic meal. Our first time and won’t be the last. Every part of the meal was cooked perfectly. Previously worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years and was impressed with the one waitress sufficiently managing all the tables herself. Great job!

This was one of the best restaurant experiences in recent memory. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We were a party of 10 and the service was as smooth and seamless as if we were a couple, and with one server! We will definitely think about Dickie Baxter for fine dining, as well as a place to celebrate family milestones! The wonderful art work of Heather Lohr also deserves special mention! What a great dining experience!

First time here, the shared appetizer of olives and feta was delicious as were the haddock and tofu bowl (best tofu in NS). Also the chocolate mousse cake! Only comment would be a vegetarian option or two as a main- we were happy to be accommodated with the tofu though.

It was overall a very good experience and a wonderful night out. We shared butter chicken nachos and my wife had the lobster pasta. I had the wedge salad. Everything was delicious and we left feeling satisfied. Our server was very good. Come to Canning and try the Dickie

It felt very rushed from the minute we got there. It was our first visit. It was an okay visit. Servers were nice but rushed us along. Didn’t even get a chance to finish our Apps before Mains came out. Ordered the same thing, mine was chewy and underdone. My friends was excellent. Our server seemed like put off that we wanted desserts and had questions about them.
I will go back if a friend invites me to go. I won’t avoid going there, it just won’t be at the top of my list.
