We had two meals at the Rowan Tree whilst on our Scottish highland adventure. The food was superb and I especially recommend the baked aubergine rolls, they were sublime!! All of the staff were positively lovely and all in all we had a fantastic evening on both visits :)

We have been visiting Aviemore for over 20 years and despite wanting to, have never eaten here before as have always passed it on the way to or from somewhere. The experience was more than worth the wait. Staff were welcoming and friendly, service was great and the food - well.... one of the nicest meals we have eaten here. Presentation, taste, portion sizes were perfect. We will definitely be back. The only let down if we were being picky would be the decor of the eating room which lacks ambience and character. The bar area itself was traditional warm and cosy.

Had a great dinner at the Rowan Tree when up in Aviemore. Had three courses, with the polenta gnocchi, mushroom and truffle on toast and espresso for after dinner. We don't think I have ever rated a restaurant with straight 10's but we really couldn't dock a point anywhere. We eat out a lot and seek out highly recommended restaurants and can truly say that it was the best meal we have had since before Covid, so that's in the last three years. If you are in the area you have to book here, and if you are a meat eater you must order the slow-cooked Highland Beef cheek - close to perfection. We had a delicious family meal at the Rowan Tree. Fantastic service and a very warm welcome. Very accommodating and friendly. We had soup, goats cheese starters - both lovely. Steak, chicken and salmon all cooked to perfection with lovely sides. The Sunday mess was amazing and other deserts. All finished off perfectly with cheese boards. Wine was great and we were able to purchase a bottle of local gin with a donation going to mountain rescue. Would love to come back and stay. Thank you for a lovely end to our holiday.

From the moment we entered my wife and I were made so welcome and the warm duck terrine I had been looking forward to all day did not disappoint. With a start like that the meal and the fine Italian red wine carried on the excellent evening. My wife and I both chose the corn fed chicken and that too was a delight. As a dessert, my wife chose the rice pudding and I had the pears. Excellent again so we finished off with liqueur coffees. We have eaten here before and when we return to Aviemore in December we will certainly be eating here again. Management and staff at the Rowan Tree are all superb. We would have loved to return while on our holiday in Aviemore but sadly we couldn’t, as we got stuck in the snow on the day of our second booking. We would strongly recommend the Rowan Tree country hotel restaurant for a good meal to anyone staying in the area. Thank you for the warmth and friendliness. The food etc was excellent. There is only one comment we would make, we are local farmers and the main product round here is lamb, it would be nice to see lamb on the menu along with venison another local product.

Excellent hotel, comfortable and clean with great amenities. Kind, patient and accommodating owners and staff, we had a small issue with our first room due to my parter being too tall for the double, but easily fixed and remedied and upgraded to a king room without issue. Restaurant part itself is excellent, great food and nothing was too much hassle for them. Would definitely recommend to others if visiting Aviemore or surrounding areas, wouldn’t stay anywhere else now.

I don't give out "10/10" lightly but my family and I had an exceptional experience at Rowan Tree House. We both stayed and ate their for two nights. The rooms were charming, the beds were comfortable, the owners and other staff were very attentive and did their very best to give us whatever we asked for, and the food was delicious. My family and I happily recommend Rowan Tree House!

We have visited a few times and the food and service is brilliant. I have been vegan for the last year and had the best vegan food so far here. My other half loved his sea bass, chicken dish and lemon baba too. Can’t fault it.
