My wife and I agree that Mon Ami Gabi is our favorite Las Vegas restaurant. We enjoy the French onion soup and the view of the Bellagio fountains from the patio. I recently made a solo trip to Las Vagas, and after taking advantage of the latest Stratophere thrill of jumping off of the top attached to a cable, I headed straight to Mon Am Gabi for a great dinner. I sat at the intimate bar just inside the entrance. The bartender was delightful and entertaining. It was as if we bar patrons were having our own party. I ordered the petite salad maison and the steak classique and an irresistable second martini. The salad was delightfully fresh, and I savored every bite of the superb cut of meat. Hand-cut frites were a perfect complement. Two years ago, my wife attended a cousin's birthday luncheon in Mon Ami Gabi's private dining room. The family had a memorable experience (and it wasn't too expensive). Although Mon Ami Gabi is a bit pricey, dollar for dollar it's likely to bring you more joy than the slots. Food is high quality with the views to go with it. You will be lucky to get an outside table over looking the fountains. Prices are reasonable apart from the liquor we had at the end (shockingly priced). Wine reasonable but for me it was all about the food and the taste was up there with the best in Vegas
I love everything about this place (but the prices)! To start with, they have the best French onion soup anywhere. It's just amazing. The bread is awesome as well and they give you as many loaves as you want. As far as the steaks go, they have strip steaks that are incredibly tasty and affordable at $23.95, but some thicker cuts as well like a T-Bone or a rib-eye for $39.95. In Vegas, those are good values for a nice place. They have a variety of sauces for the steaks and my favorite is the caramelized onion sauce, which is excellent. Some people like the thin-cut frites, others don't. Me personally, I like them a lot and they give you a monster portion of them with your entrees, so you won't leave this place hungry, for sure. My only complaint was that our waiter, who was friendly and attentive for most of the meal, forgot about us from the time our entrees arrived until it was time for the bill, and he didn't ask us how everything was. There wouldn't have been any complaints, believe me, but it would've been nice to see him. It was a busy Saturday night though. I bet the place has some excellent desserts (it's a French restaurant after all) but we were too full to find out.
I recently had two meals at Mon Ami Gabi. The first was for dinner and the second for breakfast. Both meals were fantastic! From the wait staff to the presentation and the meals themselves, every aspect was on target. (The noise level inside for dinner made it difficult to hear others across my table.) I particularly enjoyed breakfast in the outdoor portion of the restaurant. Calm and serene. Simply magnifique!
You are paying for the view of the Bellagio fountains. My meal was the worst piece of tuna I have had in years. $75/pp including a drink was not worth the money.
