A bit disappointed and sadly wouldn't rush back. Nothing hugely wrong or to complain about, but we just weren't very impressed with the mains. The mixed starter was nice. The beef rendang whilst flavoursome was very dry - I appreciate it is not meant to be saucy though I wonder if this could be made clear on the menu? When mixed with the rice and small side salad it still remained dry. The rice I thought was bland (perhaps an option to chose a preferred/alternative rice style from the menu would be good?) and the chapati a bit stale. The chicken and lime leaf curry was tasty though didn't overly impress me, though maybe I have high expectations. Service was fine and the vibe just ok. A few tweaks all round needed.

It took 30 mins to get our order taken and I had to ask someone to take it; the same experience for getting the bill. They only seemed to have one person serving tables in a full restaurant. The food was okay but thali portion of curry is extremely small for the price of the dish compared to other main dishes and the rice was lukewarm. Overall a less than average experience - unlikely to be back.

We have been going for dinner at Dapur from the moment it opened and bought takeaways during the pandemic. The quality of the food is exceptional and the amount, total value for money. The service is quick, efficient, forward facing and friendly. It is a warm, inviting, relaxing and homely atmosphere in the restaurant. We are grateful each time we go and always feel fulfilled and happy at the end of the evening. We would like to thank the owner from bringing Malaysian cuisine to Chapel Allerton!

Loved the resident singer, she made the experience much better. Portions of food on the small side for the money (three starters for two, curry, rice and three scoops of ice-cream). It was our first vis and unfortunately the service was dreadfullt slow. We had to wait at least 30 mins for our drink, so didn't even contemplate a second one. Everything was so slow and we had children with us who were getting antsy. There was no communication about being short staffed. Was all a bit chaotic for everyone dining outside. The food was delicious though. The veggie child's option was not appealing - perhaps do a veggie non spicy mee goreng for the kids as noodles are always popular. Also, some low sugar drink options for kids. Our elder daughter really enjoyed her meal. Hoping the service is better another time.

The atmosphere and service was fantastic. The staff were very attentive, relaxed and fun! The food was hot, quick and delicious. The whole experience was just what we needed!!
