Aleion

Aleion is a cosy independent restaurant opened in Muswell Hill Broadway in 2017. It is run by a husband and wife (mostly husband) and promotes
a healthier, quality-focused dining out.

In the morning it serves fresh coffees and pastries along with a selection of wholesome breakfasts. For lunch and dinner it has a more rounded menu that allows customers to choose their main meat, fish or vegetarian centrepiece and then add the accompaniments to suit their individual tastes.

Aleion aims to source their produce locally where possible and always from the finest quality suppliers. Among its favourits are the local Hampstead Butcher & Providor and Celtic Bakers that is based in Alexandra Palace.

’Aleion’ is a fusion of two names: Alex and Ian. Only that Ian is spelt in Irish to pay tribute to the great Irish lady his mother is.

Ian started a career in restaurant business 15 years ago and dreamt of opening his own place ever since. During the span of his working life he worked as a chef in several Michelin star restaurants, run operations management for an up and coming chain and even did a few restaurant fit-outs participating in the whole process from the initial layout and interior conception to building itself.

Ian is passionate about the simplicity of dishes which allows no room for error. He loves masterfully perfected clean flavours. He believes that if the ingredients are fresh, of good quality and cooked well, there is no need to hide them within a mixture of add-ons and oily sauces.
