Frequently Asked Questions
We accept bookings online through our website (www.bodeansbbq.com) or via email to [email protected]. On completion of your booking you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of making your booking please contact the restaurant directly so we can make sure your booking is in our system.
We recommend making a booking if you would like a guaranteed table. We will only be accepting bookings online or via email. We do keep walk-in tables open and depending on the demand there might be a waiting time on tables. Currently we only accept bookings up to 6 people, if you book several tables we cannot guarantee that you will be seated next to each other.
If you need to cancel a booking please do so via Table Agent, email or via a phone call with as much notice as possible. No shows may result in you not being able to book again in the future.
All tables later than 15 minutes will be considered cancelled and the table will be given to other guests if we have not received a phone call prior to your booking time. Although we will try our utmost to find an alternative table for you.
Covent Garden tube station
We are a family orientated restaurant and welcome children of all ages. Children under 12 years have the option to eat off the kid’s menu (3 course meal with drink for £4.95). We can supply high chairs, just inform us when you arrive or alternatively when making a booking online.
Unfortunately we are unable to heat up baby food or milk bottles. Your safety is our priority and we wouldn’t want to harm you or your child in any way as we cannot guarantee the right temperature. However, if you require , we can bring you a bowl of hot water to your table so that you can heat up your baby food or milk bottle yourself.
All our restaurants have options for vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements. Our Front of House team is fully trained and equipped with information regarding different dietary requirements.
Please inform us when making your reservation for any dietary requests. We always try our best to accommodate special requests and can provide allergen information upon request.
If you are celebrating a birthday or any other occasion please let us know when making your reservation or inform your server upon arrival - we will always try to make your special occasions memorable (dessert with a candle and birthday song or a glass of sparkling for the celebrant).
If you wish to bring your own cake please give us a ring and let the restaurant manager know. No beverages, except those supplied by Bodean’s are permitted to be consumed on the premises.
Unfortunately our foods are not halal certified.
All our restaurants offer Takeaway service - easily place your order on our website (www.bodeansbbq.com) or alternatively call the branch and place your order with one of our staff members. For deliveries please head over to UberEats, place your order and wait for your order to arrive.

The food quality, atmosphere and staff at Bodean's Covent Garden was great. The dinner portions were more than enough. We went for my mum's birthday and they brought her out a desert as a birthday cake which was a lovely gesture. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again.

Usually a big fan of bodeans, but this was a bad experience. The menu was completely inflexible I.e. couldn’t even swap mash for chips on kids menu, they had a special offer cocktail, which they said, and I quote, “that offer runs out tomorrow so we’re not doing it today either”. And it seems that the people who ate the prawns got food poisoning. Not good.

Food was excellent, great value, the waitress was lovely and so sweet to my toddler. Would recommend. My only criticism is that I went to use the toilet and a staff member (who thankfully did not appear to be a server or chef, possibly the manager) was in there before me and did not wash their hands when they came out which in normal circumstances is pretty grim but during a pandemic is quite worrying. They may have used hand sanitizer when they went back into their office but that's not adequate hand hygiene, not least in a food service setting.

Our table was stuck in a corner of the restaurant. Drinks took ages to come. The waitresses were not very attentive, we had to call them over. The nachos were cold, I expected it to be hot. The macaroni balls and chips were extremely salty and I couldn’t eat them. For an £80 meal we were very disappointed.

We shared a BBQ platter between two and we found it was far too much food for 2 people. And at £28 *per person* you get very few sides (2 small chips, one soggy salad drowned in dressing and 2 cornbreads, which weren't a big hit with anyone at £4 extra per person it really is disappointing). The meat was good, but unless you are sharing the platter between 3-4 people it really isn't worth getting and certainly not if you want a good variety of sides. We had to take our meat away with us in a doggy bag. The cocktails (we tried Old Fashioned and Alabama Slammer) are mostly ice and at £8 are not all that. Opting for a burger and a pint will get you more for your buck. And you get a decent amount of chips with ordinary meals. The kids meals are moderately priced at around £5, but they ran out of hotdogs by 3.30pm on a Saturday, which would have been a preffered meal for most children I should image. The Olaf milkshake was a hit with the kids though and a clever move considering the venue is right across the Theatre Royal where Frozen the musical is currently running and which we incidentally were catching after the meal. I suggest the dressing is served separately from the salad, so you can add it to taste and the salad doesn't look too tired. I also found it strange there is no coleslaw served with the platters and the meals. To me coleslaw is the classic side to any americal BBQ dish, but it may be just me. The staff were polite enough, but wouldn't crack a smile at you and had to be prompted to clear the table despite the dishes and glasses piling up precariously. We may consider visiting again, but would select completely different meals and drinks the next time to keep the bill down. For 4 adults and 2 kids it came to £150.

Best experience ever second time going and the food didn’t disappoint I sat in silence as I enjoyed everything single mouthful. It was the perfect night out in Covent Garden and the waitress was so lovely I couldn’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was great it was so American i felt I was on holiday definitely while sipping their amazing cocktails that were a reasonable price.

The only thing that i think could be improved is not doing a service charge. 12.5% is alot when there was only two of us. I do understand on large tables but not small tables of people.

We had our reservation booked for weeks and was very excited for this meal but ended up more than disappointed. The starter came out quickly and was very nice. However that was the only good thing, as we sat waiting for almost an hour for both our mains. When we asked the waitress how long it would be, she didn’t have an answer and seemed not to care, we felt like we were ignored the whole time. She also didn’t offer us any drinks refills and never mentioned why our meal may be late coming out. We had to end up leaving the restaurant in the end as we had somewhere to be and couldn’t wait any longer! Very disappointed as this was one of our favourite restaurants in London.

We had a lovely welcome. We enjoyed the cocktails. The food was served quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal. However, I had the ribs and pulled pork. The pork was delicious but the ribs appeared to be partly raw. The meat was still pink and difficult to remove from the bone. When I have had ribs in the past from other restaurants, the meat on the ribs fall off the bone. I showed it to my group and everyone thought it was still raw and advised me not to eat it. We spoke to the waitress who offered to change it for a different meat. We had desert which was lovely. Our table was reserved for us for an hour and a half, but we hadn't quite finished our meal. We all wanted to stay a little longer and have another cocktail, but we ran out of time Maybe the table booking of 1 and a half hours could be extended?

This is a great smokehouse menu with all the favourites on it. I'm a fan of the Texas sausage and wish you'd offer this on smaller plates or as an extra side as I nearly had a heart attack eating all of the food. Great beer selection (we're a fan of IPAs). Also wish you had restaurants outside of London so I could visit more often. Keep up the good work!

Awful experience service was rubbish even forgot to give us half our food, food was burnt and tastes so dry almost as if it was previously frozen and microwaved, somehow it got cooked in 5 mins and was on the table, if I had a choice I should've got a refund was absolutely terrible not coming back, it used to be nice such a shame and also the drink I ordered tasted like water but I had vodka and coke

I ordered the ribs and burnt ends, the ribs was dry and chewy and the ends was the same almost like they were the night before, and onion rings were quite greasy, my daughter had the 12 oz steak and asked for it to be medium rare and it was more like extra well done! We was offered for it to be changed but by that time we had had enough and didn't was to wait any longer, hopefully it was just a bad day for the chef but I doubt I'll be going back in a hurry

We forgot Frozen was showing just across the road, the restaurant was full of noisy kids, it was messy and the Riley’s weren’t that clean, very different to the Tower Hill restaurant, we wouldn’t return to this one,

Ok good in a dining area that needs a bit of love and attention. Service was ok nothing special but it never is in this area of London as it doesn’t have to be as it’s mostly tourists and day trippers.

One of our best experiences at a central London restaurant! Friendly welcome, attentive host throughout and absolutely delicious food! The cocktails were excellent and the happy hour deal is very generous. We shared a platter and got extra wings (highly recommend the bourbon coating). It’s a must visit restaurant, great all rounder with couples, families and single diners. Enjoy!

Tables couldn’t be closer together, basically rubbing shoulders with other customers. Had to ask 3 times for a glass of water. Was offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco as it was my anniversary, which was then added to the bill at the end. Food was very dry. And I didn’t catch the name of the waitress, but she was very rude.

Really lovely food and good service. Price ok too. We were sat by the door so it was cold when other customers came in and out…there is a curtain up but still gets draughty. You can also smell cigarettes when sat by the door when people smoke outside which isn’t great.

The chips had paprika all over them ( wasn’t told and nothing advertised ) burnt my mouth so much I had to order icecream couldn’t eat anything else , given side plates to eat as no room in the table for large plates , ambiance awful as so near the next table I could hear their conversation and then us , an all round awful experience for us and won’t be coming back , may out the review online too to warn everyone else

The chicken burgers were good. The beer burger with pulled pork was quite good. The BBQ was really bad, very dry and not warm at all (reheats!!!) burnt ends were super dry and chewy (that's not how burnt ends normally could be) The ribs were dry and chewy as well, the pulled pork was over shredded and far too heavily sauced. My youngest didn't get his veg sticks or dessert either brought or offered. The service was dour, largely ignorant, impatient and unhelpful, as if we were an inconvenience. Honestly I was hoping for a lot more. Perhaps Sunday lunch is just when the food from a few days ago is served? Either way, we ain't coming back.

Service was friendly enough just a little bit slow at times and lacklustre. It was on a Sunday so you can forgive that. Food was average. Ribs were dry and pulled pork also. It’s London so expect to pay a premium which is fine but wouldn’t say it was particularly worth the price and the quality just wasn’t there. That said it wasn’t the worst food I have ever eaten and the restaurant itself is pretty cool. The style feels very American which I personally like but once again food wasn’t too shabby. Would be unfair to say a totally poor experience but not the best. Let’s just say average. Honeycomb milkshake was on point. Probably best part of the whole meal. Waitress smiled but looked shattered. Felt sorry for her included tip on top of service but didn’t go out of her way to earn it. Hate to sound judgemental but just saying service was below standard.

Food was spectacular. Burnt ends and spare ribs were of particular note. The beans and cornbread were delicious, and amplified the pulled pork, which otherwise was our least favourite on the platter. Would have preferred a fudgier/less cakey brownie. Some of the music choices were a bit strange, would have liked South American style music, country and western. Couldn't fault our server, though we didn't get her name, she was amazing and attentive and didn't let our drinks go empty all night. We would come back, definitely, and recommend to others.

Try and influence council to enforce speed restrictions on the road, often vans drive 40mph+ within 50cm of diners. Quite unsafe when dining outside.

Lovely meal and staff. Very convenient for theatres. The surprise free birthday dessert for my friend was lovely but it would have been nice to order a dessert for myself at the same time rather than after she had finished hers! Nevertheless a lovely time was had. Thank you.

Unfortunately everybody in my party agreed that all the meat options were overly salty, the Mac &cheese side was watery and severely lacking any cheese. And the pina colada was the worst I ever had in 40 years. I won’t be going back ever.

Really good overall. We had to wait several minutes after our food arrived before we received cutlery. Otherwise waitress really helpful and pleasant. Cocktails good and food tasty
