The Black Sheep is delicious and unique! We are the black sheep of local restaurants, doing things just a bit differently than the rest. You can expect a variety of unique, high-quality entrees on our menu on any given night. Our menu and specials are updated regularly to incorporate fresh, in-season, local foods presented in a deliciously new way. Try our poultry, fish, pork, gluten-free, and vegetarian entrees and, of course, our featured lamb entrees. We keep the menu small because we care deeply about the freshness and quality of our food. Great, changing seasonal menu. Very imaginative food combinations with certifiable local ingredients. Though the wait staff revolves quite a bit (mostly college students), they are well trained - courteous, informed, responsive. Tyler (the owner) makes an effort to make you feel welcome. Can't recommend the Black Sheep more highly!

Cute decor. Felt very safe - masks available at the door. Attentive staff. Tried a couple of their specialty cocktails that were solid and served with a metal straw.
Interesting menu of seasonal food. Wanted to try everything but got the Cheese Dip with Spinach & Naan bread that was amazing. Tried the shaved Zucchini with parm and pinenuts and lemony dressing - bright, fresh and unique. Had the Salmon off the main menu. It was a little to rich for me but delicious! And tried the August Meatloaf- which was Cajun and amazing. Did not leave hungry!!
A bright star in Whitewater and in Walworth County. Worth checking out!

We sat outside, which was awesome during COVID. The staff was very conscientious of safety protocol. I would give inside ambiance a 10, but outside it is an 8 which is still awesome. Across the street is a park which is nice to look at.

Our table had folding chairs, rather than standard dining chairs that were around the other tables. These were not as comfortable. However, the food and service were excellent. We had a drink at the bar prior to sitting at our table and the bartender was very knowledgeable and told us about the restaurant. He obviously takes great pride in his job and the restaurant.

Wine choices weren’t great and the waitress was uneducated. She said all i know is this one is cheaper. Huge price point and quality between mediocre Chardonnay and Louis at $14 pg.

Love this place, the food and service never fail. This time they were out of a few things, not a big deal. Would really like them to change the lighting a bit though. Those white LED’s in one of the chandeliers is kind of harsh. I know it’s probably me, but I find lighting really can contribute to the atmosphere. But seriously, the food here is always excellent and the staff is wonderful.
