Booking Notes:

Bookings are allocated time slots based on the time you wish to stay. Due to the booking system being automated, if you book from 7pm until 9pm for example... An earlier booking can finish on that same table at 7pm and also allow bookings from 9pm without a grace period. So please bare that in mind with your booking to allow yourself time to relax and not feel rushed. If you arrive early, there's a chance your table will still be occupied until the beginning of your booking time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our largest party size we can take in our venue is 6 people at one time. We're only a small venue with 10 tables, mostly 2's, 4's and one table of 6. With the type of service/cocktails we offer, we're just not built for bigger groups since speed of service and quality tend to dip which is why we made the decision to have 6 max We've trialled larger groups in the past and it just hasn't worked out. We don't accept larger, split table bookings
We strongly recommend bookings as we tend to hit capacity every day. However, we do accept a small amount of walk-ins on our bar stools on a first come first serve basis. If there is nothing available on the website to allow you to book, then we would be fully booked and have walk-in space only.
If you have booked a table from 5-7pm for example, the booking system then allows someone else to then book in from 7pm so we would need the table back and ready for the next booking at the time of ending. There's an option to book tables for up to 3 hours, so we recommend booking with a little flexibility in mind as our booking system is automated and that leaves it out of our hands once you have chosen your table time.

Yes, the transaction will go through when you book, and we then take the amount off the final bill on the evening of your booking

Booked a table in advance (2 hr slot) for a group of 5 ladies. We were a little overwhelmed by the menu - quite extensive - but we had a very knowledgeable server who basically asked us what spirits/ flavours we liked and matched drinks to us perfectly. The little food dishes were excelent too. Great place and ambiance. We were a little apprehensive as to how costly the trip may be as there was no mention anywhere before we went of prices, but I would say they are on par for this high end cocktail experience (about £12). We would definitely recommend and will be returning. A little hidden gem in Manchester.

This place is perfection - the atmosphere is elegant but relaxed with vibes of a prohibition speak easy. The cocktails and food are inventive and delicious and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable but also good humoured, kind and really make the experience. This was one of the best bars I’ve been to in a long time! The bar staff were amazing, very friendly, professional and knew all of the drinks inside and out. The atmosphere was great and felt really cosy. Loved all the little touches around the bar that really brought everything together. 4 of us visited SiC on Friday night ealy doors and it was busy then. Great atmosphere, staff very attentive , friendy and knowledgable and the cocktails were sublime. We didn't eat but we will next time. Well worth a visit and I recommend booking if you want a table.

I love the background music, its not loud enough to have a conversation. I love the setting, tables, how dim the light is, its a great venue. The only thing that could be improved is the drinks, the ice seems to make up 50% of the drinks, for that reason the drinks seem a bit overpriced. But apart from that everything else is great, including customer service

What an amazing bar hid away just off the main road near the Opera house. The staff were Amazing, Cocktails Divine, Food So Nice, lovely atmosphere and beautiful place. Highly recommended. Absolutely loved the vibe, drinks and service. Kai was amazingly kind, knowledgeable and attentive. The fact that he's new to SiC astounded me, he knew everything that we needed to know! My only quibble is that I do feel that it was a little pricier than I'm used to for a cocktail, but I appreciate the cost goes towards making your own sodas etc. I will be returning!!

We loved it. The cocktails were amazing, and allthe little touches really gave us a wonderful experience. All of the team really know their stuff and could offer suggestions based on your prefered type of drink. All really friendly, all know what they're talking about. 100% will be back :)

I have been watching Speak in Codes journey from the start and it was our first family visit back in town for my birthday. It certainly didn’t disappoint, we all loved it! The guy who served us was so friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through the drink options. My cocktails were amazing but completely different, which was fabulous. A great edition to Manchester. We’ll be back

Welcomed quickly on entrance, asked if we wanted to check in our coats, menu explained quickly and clearly. Loved the overall ambience and music. Served quite quickly, asked if all was good a few minutes after being served our cocktails - which were exceptionally good. A great experience, we will return!

Absolutely love this venue. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful and knowledgeable, the drinks are really interesting and soooo tasty, the decor and ambience perfect, I’d rather no one one else finds out about it really (sorry Nathan - Joking!) this was our first visit and i’m really impressed, the service was amazing, the decor and vibe was lovely, the drinks and bar snacks were great, big thanks to matt and unfortunately i didn’t catch the other bartenders name but he was great also, will definitely be back :)

It was perfect. The cocktails were amazing. Connan who took care of us was incredible. My only suggestion is that maybe it was a little too loud in there but not too bad at all. Cannot wait for my next visit

We had two cocktails each. All amazing. Barman was excellent & attentive. We didn’t eat. It was quiet as it was a Monday night, we actually said to ourselves that we’d love to experience it on a Friday or Saturday night. Will visit again.
