You just be over 18 to attend. 6 people maximum per party. No larger, split table reservations permitted.
Main room - If you wish to book for small groups and have a table in the bar area, book for the main room...
SiC Studio - If you wish to be in a more intimate space, with a bit more of a closer connection to the bartenders, book for the studio. The reservation system is set up to allow for bookings of 2 only in there, however if you're a 4 you can book 2 x 2 seats. In the Studio we also host regular seminars and international guest bartenders.
If you cannot find any availability in SiC, head to our other bar - Double Down which is right underneath us, with an entrance next door

Booking Notes:
Bookings are allocated time slots based on the time you wish to stay, so allow yourself time to relax and not feel rushed. If you arrive early, your table could still be occupied until the beginning of your booking time, and equally there may be another booking directly after you.

Frequently Asked Questions- Do you accept large bookings?
- Our largest party size we can take in our venue is 6 people at one time. We're only a small venue with 10 tables, mostly 2's, 4's and one table of 6. With the type of service/cocktails we offer, we're just not built for bigger groups since speed of service and quality tend to dip which is why we made the decision to have 6 max We've trialled larger groups in the past and it just hasn't worked out. We don't accept larger, split table bookings
- Do you accept walk-ins?
- We strongly recommend bookings as we tend to hit capacity every day. However, we do accept a small amount of walk-ins on our bar stools on a first come first serve basis. If there is nothing available on the website to allow you to book, then we would be fully booked and have walk-in space only.
- Does the table deposit come off the bill?
- Yes, the transaction will go through when you book, and we then take the amount off the final bill on the evening of your booking
- What's the difference between main room and SiC Studio?
- Main room, we've always had - it's the OG Speak in Code space - 49 seats, no standing, mixture of groups sizes (max 6) and 10 bar stools that we always save for walk ins. SiC Studio is a recent extension of our space, with a bit more of a modernist feel - a single, table height bar station with a communal table and seats either side. 16 seats total, intimate, cosy and we can also play vinyl in here too...

Fantastic visit! Unfortunately our previous meal overran but the team at SiC were able to keep our booking open for us to come over as soon as we had finished our meal. Drinks were excellent as usual and the team were friendly and knowledgeable as usual. Added bonus of coming on the night you were awarded Bar Of The Year in the MFDFA and you could see exactly why from our visit - Congratulations guys & thank you!

This was my third visit to SiC and it just gets better every time. Despite their network going down meaning they were unaware we’d been delayed, the table had been held and the team were as accommodating as always. The cocktails are fantastic and the staff are attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. We only had bread so I can’t really rate the food - maybe next time!

Fantastic, innovative and service cocktail menu, lovely friendly service from knowledgeable staff. At £15ish a cocktail it's not cheap, but considering the quality it's not expensive and definitely worth it (I would much rather pay a bit extra and have staff paid decently and the place staying in business). My sister, brother and I visited Speak in Code on Thursday 3rd April. It was our first night in Manchester and this visit was a brilliant start to our weekend. The cocktails were to die for and you could tell that all of the team at SIC were passionate about what they did.
All of the ingredients are organic and home made which made the "large number" of cocktails stand out.
Our server was warm, friendly, professional and lovely to deal with. Would 100% recommend a visit to Speak in Code.

Absolutely love coming here every time I'm in Manchester. I miss the small bite pairings that SiC used to have, and this time the drinks were a bit... too adventurous for me. I couldn't find one I really enjoyed from the 4 drinks we sampled, but perhaps my pallette wasn't what the team was going for this time around. I'd love to see a rye whiskey drink that's booze forward. Perhaps a riff off of a la lousianne, remember the maine, or a vieux carre? In any event, we'll be back every time we visit Manchester regardless of what's on the menu. Thanks for an amazing experience as always.

Loved the occasion, from start to finish. Jade looked after us very well and has been well trained, she seems to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all the cocktails and we tried some we’d never had before. Love this place and have been a few times and always recommend it to others. The team are so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the drinks and food are sublime. Love that they don’t just pile people in, if there are no seats, they are full. There is no standing room which makes for a more chilled, easy going place. I will be back again!
