Everything was great but the onion soup was a bit on the bland side and the onions seemed uncaramelized.

Our server Lydia was fantastic. She could speak well to the food, and her service was personal and genuine. We ordered the tartare to share, as well as the haricots verts and provencale tian to start. The tartare was very fresh and a good portion, but my guests commented that perhaps a quail or duck egg might have been more attractive on the plate, or even just a brown chicken egg. Likewise, the sauce it was dressed with was perhaps a touch too sweet (too much ketchup/tomato?). Both of the side dishes were great, especially the haricots verts. For entrees we ordered the skate wing and the Vincent burger. The skate wing was rich, and combined with its size I would recommend it to share. I could have used a few less capers, by the end it was a little overwhelming. The Vincent burger was easily shared. Dessert was the caramelized pineapple crepe. We both agreed it could have used more cream, the crepe itself dried out rather quickly. Ideally folded into the crepe instead of right on top. For beverages we kept to wine. We shared a bottle to start, with kudos to Lydia for being her first bottle service ever. Our second round was by the glass, where we received VERY full glasses that were generous, but a death sentence to profit margins. I saw several other glasses go out that were just as full. Not concerning food or beverage, we all loved the central booths that are open on both sides. However, we were surprised to see TVs above the bar. Maybe keep them off save for game days? I loved that the kitchen was semi-open and imagine the chef counter would be a great place to dine. Commenting to others about the concept, and the feeling was the same: Minneapolis needs a place to grab elevated, classic, and unpretentious French fare. I'm already looking forward to my return visit.
