Frequently Asked Questions- Do I need a reservation?
- Our tearoom is small and cozy. If you would like to have Afternoon Tea or High Tea with us, please make a reservation. We are not able to accommodate walk-ins for Afternoon Tea. Of course, our EatMe!/DrinkMe! counter offers an amazing selection of items, no reservations needed! You are welcome to enjoy your snacks and drinks on the patio, but during the summer months the tables in the tea room are reserved for Afternoon Tea service only.
- How much is the Afternoon Tea or High Tea service?
- You can find out more information about out tea services on our "memus" page. Simply click on the service you are requesting to see what our menu options and prices.
- Can you accommodate a large group of people?
- Due to Covid19 - we currently cannot accommodate parties or large groups (more than 6 people).
- Can we meet a Wonderland character in the tearoom?
- No. We do not offer character meet and greet.
- Can we expect a Disney like experience?
- Alice in the Village has no affiliation with Disney. We are a Tea Room and we do not offer a “Disney experience” like rides or attractions.
- Can you accommodate food allergies?
- Unfortunately we can't accommodate food allergies requests. If you have a certain food allergy, we will not be able to guarantee an allergen free food. Our other location at Foxboro MA is able to accommodate some food allergies.
- What is Afternoon Tea?
- Afternoon tea is a delicious three-course meal served on a tiered stand. It’s a filling meal that is sure to satisfy even the most voracious appetites! The bottom tier is full of hearty savories that can include different types of unique sandwiches and quiche. The middle tier holds freshly baked warm scones with fruit preserves and devon cream The top tier overflows with delicious and decadent sweets and desserts guaranteed to leave a smile on all our guests. And of course a pot of tea!
- What is a Themed Tea?
- Throughout the year, we offer special themed tea services. While we will always remain an Alice in Wonderland tea room, our food and desserts will be inspired from other great characters in literature or popular culture. (We wish we could transform the decor for each special event!) Check our menus page for more information.
- Can we share an Afternoon Tea or Themed Tea service?
- We have designed our tea service to be enough food for one person. If you would like to share, then we will be obliged to charge you a shared plate fee of. We really appreciate your understanding of this annoying policy.

I cannot recommend Alice in the Village and their Wizard's Tea high enough! I have never done a "tea experience", but would go back again and again. Firstly, the ease with which I was able to reserve a time was great! Second - the FOOD and TEA! Oh my goodness, sandwiches, scones and dessert PLUS a special wizards brew and perfectly steeped tea. Finally, our server and hostess - Kelly. Not only knowledgeable about the food and tea, but delivered a "hooting" good time! If you are ever in Mystic and have the time, book yourself a tea at Alice in the Village. You won't be disappointed!

Wonderful service and ambience. The ratio of sweets to sandwiches was unbalanced in my perspective. Many treats, such as cupcakes, brownies, some other sweets and very little tea sandwiches. Even the treat loving kids (two of them) said it was "too sweet". Lovely place though and a very gracious and wonderful server! Thank you.

I went to The Most Magical Tea On Earth. Unfortunately, it was not. First of all, the USA sandwich was suppose to have roast beef on it, ours had turkey. The bread for the Italy sandwich was hard. I think they forgot some of our chips and salsa for Mexico as the portion was so small only my husband got to sample it. I think there was a teaspoon of salsa and 3 tortilla chips broken in half. The couscous salad was very good. This is my 4th time here and they really need to replace the scone with something else; it is always dry and not very tasty. The desserts were uninspiring. One was a regular cupcake with a sugar rocket on top and another was a mini eclair that was frozen. The experience was not worth the $106.00 it cost for two of us. On a good note, my grandson said the macrons I brought home to him were delicious!!

Was not what I expected given the price. Waitress rarely checked on us. Paid up front bc I didn’t know if she was coming back. Asked if it was for a special occasion when I made the reservation but it being my birthday was never mentioned by the staff. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Everything about the visit was amazing! Our server was incredible, the food was great, and we felt very comfortable.
Only thing we would have changed is, coming out of the dining area, there were so many people that we didn’t get to buy extra goodies to take home or any trinkets. It was far too crowded to even look. It would be awesome to have a to-go menu for tables (at least for the food up front) so we wouldn’t have to push through and wait through the line once getting to that area.

Another lovely afternoon, this time to celebrate my birthday. We leisurely enjoyed our tea (we really liked the tea with caramel notes), sandwiches, scone, pastries and special drink. It was my first time going after seeing an ad about it on social media. Absolutely 100% would love to come again. The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the items on the menu and helped tremendously with making sure we knew exactly what we were getting for the menu as well as making sure there were no allergies to worry about. I was highly dissapointed for the cost. I brought two-7yr old girls to see Alice, and no staff was dressed up. After asking if they did roleplay I was told "Sometimes". I feel like I was robbed. Will never recommend this place to anyone and will in fact turn them away.

My daughter and I had the most wonderful afternoon at Alice In The Village. Firstly, it’s just the most adorable place, charming, cozy and welcoming. Your staff is incredible and went above and beyond to make us feel more like guests in their home that had come for a visit than customers. We Purposefully arrived a bit early and enjoyed shopping (Would have loved a bit more selections in tea pots and related items but what was there was really lovely) and when we were seated our first impression of that sweet blue bottle of soda was just perfect. The tea tower was just as delicious as it was stunning. Honestly, we just loved every moment and will be back very soon as we live in the area. Thank you for a great afternoon. Well done!!

From the moment you walk in you’re treated like family. It was an awesome experience. Then the food came! Piles of it, and every bit of it was excellent. From the finger sandwiches to every dessert everything was fantastic. The witches brew we started off with was a little sweet for my taste. I’ve already booked November 3 when they switch themes. The desserts at Alice in the Village are the best part, they are beautiful and delicious! The decor in Alice in whimsical and there is a cool merchandise that customers can purchase. Even to grab a boba tea to go, Alice in the Village is a unique experience!

Lovely visit to Alice yesterday. The tea room is probably more chi chi in ordinary times with a lot of frilly decorations but they did a great job under the confines of the COVID restrictions. Kudos to the staff for their attentiveness. We had a great assortment of foods. We brought home half and had two more servings with family. Will consider a return trip after COVID to enjoy the full ambiance.

Alice in the Village is a great little tea shop. The ambience is great, it feels like you have fallen into the book. The Wizard of Oz themed tea was perfect from the menu names, the variety of the food offered and everything tasted great. The tea was delicious and was able to buy the tea to take home. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. I look forward to going back.

My daughter and I had 1 pm reservations for Easter Sunday. The server was in grubby jeans, the small restaurant area was dark and drab. While the food was good and plentiful, the whole experience was blah because of lackluster ambience and the dress of the waitress. We did it once, but never again. And we have been apprising our friends of our experience.d

Server Kelly helped make our experience delightful. She was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. It was fun picking out teapots from the whimsical collection and there was a nice variety of teas to choose from. Dietary issues were easily handled. The Alice in Wonderland theme was thoughtfully carried out in the decor.

Loved it during Harry Potter tea....but this time not so much!! Cucumber sandwich on hamburger buns?? Cheap tasting and looking this go around. I understand Covid possibly played a part, but do something to make it work the extremely high cost! Unsure I will do again after this experience

Lovely day out with my granddaughters. The service was great. Everyone was friendly. The shop and bathroom were clean. The food was not particularly good. The sandwiches were flavorless and the quiche was soggy. The desserts were a bit stale and the scone fell apart. If they upgrade the food it would be exceptional!

We had a wonderful time! My only complaint is that the phone line was constantly busy every time called about a concern about 2 reservations I had made. It was busy for a week and still is now, I also sent an e-Mail did not receive one back. However with all of that said, we a wonderful experience and will return soon.
