First time visit. Excellent. Only query not sure how the car parking works. Ended up paying to avoid fines even though we had dined? Process not clear. However, lovely place, nice food. Would recommend

Lovely ambience and views. Staff were very polite, efficient and welcoming. Good variety on the menu. Portions are large. A big plus is 4 hours of free car parking is included for diners at the Lock.

I always love the whole experience here. I took a friend today and she couldn’t believe it. She wants to bring her partner next time she visits the area and wondered how she’d never heard about it before. It’s in such an interesting spot and the venue so welcoming, friendly and inviting. The food’s excellent … good food, big portions and a wide selection. Well done to the team.

Service is always great as is the food. It might be helpful to provide a pot/cup for used tea bags instead of having to put teabags on the side of the saucer. Also, more than one napkin per person would be good and maybe a bigger napkin that you could put on your lap.

The only disappointment was we were told around 3pm that the place was closing earlier. An hour earlier than the normal hours so that was disappointing as we felt rushed. We chose this venue as it's the best location for the majority of our group for getting together. Otherwise food was nice. Muffin was delicious.

It was very busy on Good Friday I had booked a table but we were stood in a queue behind people who hadn’t booked but we didn’t know, eventually a member of staff came over to say there was a 45 min wait then disappeared at which point my Sister went up to the bar to say we had booked, we were shown to the table but it took ages for someone to take our order, the food arrived quickly after and was delicious, we then spent a while trying to attract a staff member to pay the bill, they were walking about but not looking. It was very busy but the service did let it down a bit
