Mesob Ethiopian Restaurant of Montclair, NJ is a favorite for both vegans & meat lovers with its authentic Ethiopian food. Since we opened in October 2003 all of our foods are prepared with imported Ethiopian spices blended daily. Our produce is always fresh and our sauces are prepared as ordered. The friendly staff and warm décor makes Mesob the perfect place to relax with family and friends. Our Injera, a delicious sourdough Ethiopian flat bread that you wrap your food with, makes Mesob a favorite with kids, where it’s a treat to “eat with your hands.” (but we also have silverware, if you prefer!) We had an incredible dining experience at Mesob restaurant in Montclair NJ. The atmosphere was relaxing, the staff was very helpful and the food was delicious.
We had one vegan sampler platter and one with meat options and both came separate which was very considerate. Highly recommend this establishment and cant wait to come back and try more.

Swaroop gave us excellent suggestions for the food what we may enjoy. Surely we did enjoy.
Only thing I would say that it should be mentioned in menu that there is certain minimum or if the order is small for certain offering for number of guests there will be surcharge.

Our server (middle-aged gentleman) was wonderful and the entire experience was very hospitable. The food was excellent, well-spiced and with good flavor balance. Also, my friend is ciliac and vegan to boot, and she was able to order many things and enjoy them all, including gluten-free injera (handbread) that the restaurant prepared for us ahead of time. It was lovely. Will certainly return.
