We hope that you will find the Hideaway Kitchen a relaxed and informal environment, where you can enjoy great quality, fresh food in stylish surroundings within easy reach from York & Harrogate. Hideaway Kitchen is a home from home, a rural restaurant, offering you coffee and cakes throughout the day, a delicious brunch, lunch or dinner or perhaps our traditional Sunday lunch! We have a small menu with most dishes served as a small or a large portion. We have a wide range of innovative and tasty bar snacks and are more than happy to cater for special dietary requirements. Our wines, spirits, and beers follow our ethos of being top-quality, select and with a sense of style. We have a large selection of premium gins and our wines are supplied by Corney & Barrow. Given our love of Spain and its culture, we also serve some excellent Spanish lagers and beers. We will be hosting events throughout the year and will post full details of these on the news section of our site. Stay tuned for cookery classes, gin tastings, creative workshops, business meet-ups, street food weekends and much more! We look forward to welcoming you to the Hideaway Kitchen soon.
I love this place! Staff are always friendly, the decor is lovely and the food is delicious.
An alright experience but nothing to rave about . I thought quite poor value eg £7 for an Eton Mess ( not a lot of skill making an Eton Mess decorated with just a mint leaf !) . The pizza was unremarkable . The fish was nice...hot and well cooked but very simple. Poorer value than other eateries in the region and no wow factor to justify the price. Poor value softened by the Eat Out to Help Out ..probably won’t go again though
Why are people missing out on the fantastic food and service here ?! Great Pizzas. Love that they had Nduja-not had this anywhere else locally. Beautifully prepared and balanced food served with a smile. Loved the cashew chicken and Harissa Chicken. Ambience only an 8 as would be 10 if it was busier with a bit more buzz. Loved everything else
Wonderful food, lovely restaurant and setting. Talented chefs! Loved it!
Really enjoyed our meal, it’s the first time I’ve visited in the evening, in the past I’ve just been for breakfast and lunch. It’s always been a relaxed, informal enjoyable experience. Food and wine excellent. Thank You
Brilliant. Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service was fabulous - so friendly and attentive. The food was divine and everyone enjoyed their meals. 5 stars all round.
Another fantastic experience, this really is a gem of a place - the food is fantastic and never disappoints, the staff couldn’t be more accommodating.
Very good food, comfortable environment and great service. It was our first meal out as a family of 5 after the lockdown and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
So wonderful to have the Hideaway back. We have been so looking forward to Georgina’s Sunday Roast Excellent service and lovely ambiance
Excellent food and lovely hosts. Great to be back eating there. Every card has been taken with social distancing as well. Highly recommend going here.
First visit and was pleasantly surprised. The mix of styles of tables and chairs was haphazard and looked odd. Some of the service seemed a little inexperienced. Aside from those comments, the staff were attentive, friendly and hard working. The food choices were good and the servings were more than adequate. The quality was very good.
A very enjoyable evening pity you are closing
one of the best places in North Yorkshire - I would go everyday if i could
Food and service consistently good but wine list could improve both in choice and availability.
Main courses were good but disappointingly a lack of choice of side dishes, no potato alternative to chips. Bit pricey too. No decaffeinated coffee available.
My husband and I went there for the eat out help out meal , it has changed a lot since we were last there , everything is so white and to me very sterile . My husband had a chicken burger which he enjoyed and I had the pie , when it arrived my husband said it looked like a pukka pie !! . It was not great I think I found four pieces of meat in my pie !! Which was a shame , don’t think we will be going back
Good size food portions, although the choice was a little limited. Basic, but COVID safe service.
We booked a meal to celebrate our Anniversary. Whilst the food was good we did not understand the rationale of only serving food whilst wearing visors but when delivering drinks/cutlery encroaching within 1 metre without one. Also, unfortunately, our conversation was repeatedly disturbed by the regulars on the next table receiving a number of phone calls and becoming increasingly louder with the consumption of more alcohol - they were not dining. Spoilt the romance of the evening - our first meal out since lockdown. Please ban phone calls or seat diners away from the people solely drinking.
