The Red Lion - Derby

The Red Lion, Kegworth is well regarded as the flagship alehouse in North West Leicestershire. It brings consistent, high quality cask conditioned ales to its customers. Like its customers, it is passionate about all things beer and the importance of social community to rural life. We are a friendly and hospitable place to meet friends both old and new, and to discuss the issues of the day.

We have two public bars which are both light and airy and offer a warm welcome in the winter, through individual log-burners. Cribbage, dominos and cards are often played in the rear bar and the days affairs are regularly the point of discussion in the front bar.

We also have a seperate restaurant serving lunch and evening dinner. All our food is made fresh to order and we home make as much as possible, using locally sourced ingredients. We also offer a good selection of tasty vegetarian options, a good wine list and specials of the day. Our restaurant also features a real fire to welcome guests on a cold day.

Outside we have a large beer garden, a very large free car-park and Pétanque piste’s around a small, garden area.

We have background music throughout to give customers privacy and whilst we don’t have any TVs we do have a super-fast WiFi where you can expect speeds well in excess of 200mb and easily allows our customers to watch whatever sport or programme they like from their own mobile devices and ear pods.

Although primarily a beer pub we also have freshly ground coffee and speciality teas, a wide selection of quality wines and fizz and if you prefer table service, this is also available on request.
