A hidden gem! This is tapas cooked by a chef who explores flavours and uses fresh ingredients. The team works fast yet still maintain personal touches. The restaurant is small and perfect for small parties, dates or just a meal after the theatre. La Taberna is authentic and feels years away from those bland franchises.

We had lunch at the Taberna on Wednesday 6 December and really enjoyed all of the tapas we had, which included patatas bravas, prawns in garlic, tortilla and bruschetta. The only thing was that there were no other customers, which is a shame as the food is great, the prices reasonable and the decor just right. We will be back.

We had a lovely evening meal, 5 or 6 delicious tapas and some really nice wine. This is hidden gem in the center of Oxford. Really felt like we had been transported to Seville for a night. We should have ordered the bread and oil as this was an option but we went with the bread bucket instead. Couldn’t fault what we ordered though. Wry friendly service and good music. Would definitely go back!

I have lived in Oxford 10 years and not sure how we missed this lovely gem of a place. The staff, food and ambience was all great. Two exceptional dishes were the garlic prawns and the chorizo in wine but all dishes were delicious. My husband and I also greedily enjoyed the churros and chocolate sauce. We will be back!!

What a good find! My friend and I were first ones in at 12.30 and glad of it as it soon filled up. The food was delicious, the relaxed atmosphere and decor left us feeling as though we away and not in the centre of Oxford. Our churros were delayed but packed up for us as we had tickets for a show but we will definitely go back.

A real hidden gem of a restaurant. We had a lovely evening out with some delicious food and the best sangria we've ever had! The service was excellent, and the decor and ambience were also very pleasant. The food was very tasty, if a bit salty, and more vegetarian options would've been great, but we were very happy with what we had. All in all, it made for a great spot for a date - we would definitely recommend.

Amazing food, drink and atmosphere. We were very pleased, especially since we haven't been before. We will definitely be coming back many times int he future!
The only thing to note would be that the service was a little slow for drinks while we wait for food but the staff were very apologetic and was busy so perfectly understandable. Maybe , just a heads up when first entering so customers know there may be a wait. Again, not a massive issue as everything else was outstanding!

Food was delicious although it seemed odd that there was no coffee available. Music rather loud.
