Very difficult to choose a ‘simpler’ entree, many descriptions indicate just one more ingredient that makes the choice not work. For example fennel or cilantro. Also seems that almost every selection includes a fried item. Even the caprese salad. Sometimes simpler is better. Otherwise we did enjoy our experience. Thanks!

I loved it!! The short ribs I had were fantastic! The only thing I would change is the fries I had with it. It would have been out of this world if they had garlic mashed potatoes or just plain mashed potatoes with the ribs! The truffle fries didn’t get it in my opinion, not when you pay $28 for the meal. I would gladly pay a couple of bucks more for mashed potatoes. Now on to the dessert. I had the Banana Rum Raisin Brioche Pudding with Caramel Sauce. One word? Fantastic. My wife had the Scallops and were good also. Will definitely be coming back!

The food was ok overall but not stellar. I ordered the braised beef short ribs, expecting that tender melt in your mouth experience that comes when that dish is done well. This version was tasty but a bit tough, chewy and stringy. I wouldn’t order it again. I did have the Cabin’s bacon brussels sprouts and they were quite good! For dessert we split an order of the brioche pudding and that was a winner because it tasted a bit like it could be the American cousin of the English sticky toffee pudding which I love.
The server was very friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable and somewhat casual. Give it a try but don’t order the short rib entree.

We love the Coastal Cabin! The servers are friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and you can't beat their happy hour with half-price appetizers! The menu isn't extensive, but has enough variety to satisfy both seafood lovers and those that prefer their food from land-based sources. We especially love the shrimp skewers and the salmon and crab dip, but we have never had a bad dish. They also have some amazing martinis and the sangria is always a hit! If we have any criticism, I would say the desserts are just good, not outstanding, but after stuffing ourselves with drinks, apps and entrees, only the youngest members in the family usually want dessert. Overall, this is one of our favorite restaurants in RI!

We had a great experience and meal at The Coastal Cabin Sunday night! The ambiance is fantastic -- beautiful views, very clean interior, and very comfortable. The service was outstanding and all staff from start to finish were extremely friendly and helpful. The menu has an excellent variety of choices and our party especially enjoyed the fried caprese salad, seafood chowder, and creative sides (such as: smoked gouda hashbrowns). Coastal Cabin has become a neighborhood treasure for those who live in Narragansett. Jen, the manager, always makes each customers experience memorable. The wait staff is always helpful and accommodating. The food is delicious. I am never disappointed when dining at Coastal Cabin. Keep up the good work. Geri Bergeron.

Easily made reservations online. The food was delicious! We started off with the shrimp skewers. Great presentation in a martini glass! One of us had the Seafood Risotto and the other had the Seafood Potpie. Our server, Elizabeth, was very pleasant! We will be going back to try other dishes.

The Coastal Cabin is a hidden jewel I found while driving on Rte. 1A one Sunday afternoon late last summer. (A recent widow, I headed out to find somewhere wonderful to eat lunch; frankly, its tasteful exterior made me do a U-turn! Then I experienced its Crabcake Benedict topped with Hollandaise and LOBSTER, served by genuinely friendly people who intuited my need for low-key privacy when I arrived alone with a Sunday crossword puzzle. A month or so later I returned with a friend only to discover that its usual superior chef was not on duty that day; whatever we ate was good and the ambience great. I've since described to others my initial brunch -- but couldn't remember the restaurant's name....! Last night two of my daughters and I celebrated what would have been my husband's 86th birthday. Our cocktails and my caprese salad topped with sea scallops served so graciously on its deck (gently warmed by outdoor braziers) as well as their well-enjoyed entrees left yet another unforgettable taste in my mind and spirit. I'll be back some Sunday (but will call ahead about the Crabcake Benedict)!

We came in for a birthday celebration and were treated really well.
We split the beet salad as an appetizer and then had the salmon and the fried scallops. Everything was wonderful cooked perfectly and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food.
Everyone from the hostess at the front to our waitress to the bus person we’re very kind and courteous. Manager even came by at the end to ask us how everything was.
Since it was my birthday I got a free dessert which was excellent.
We are not picky people, go out to have a good time, and enjoy our surroundings, we certainly did that. I was in the restaurant industry as a cook and chef for over 25 years, we’re definitely coming back here. It’s a hidden gem.
