The Foie Gras bowl was good though the beef slices were paper thin. Luckily the foie gras made up for it. The sashimi platter $28 was not worth it - very small puny sizes and didn't look too fresh. Maki roll was so so.

We were seated near the entrance wh has very low ceiling and the music was far too loud for us the hear each another when we speak. Service was bad. The Filipino girls were busy talking to one another and nudging their colleagues when we call out for them. Instead of replenishing the tea, they were just talking amongst themselves. Such service we usually dont find in a jap restaurant. The only acceptable thing was the quality of the food.

booked a table for 2 people, but the table was arranged next to the trolley with used dishes. The food is average and the price is slightly higher. Payment is not convenient at all, because only accept paynow, grab pay and cash. I opt for paynow and the staff is standing next to me and i felt insecure even he/she did not look at my phone screen. How can a restaurant have no credit/debit card payment method?

Tanuki Raw is always a good place to have nice bites with friends and happy hour is really convenient. We were sat outside on a nice central table and served by Ryan who was super careful and supportive, thumbs up!
Only small comments I can make are related to the lobster and salmon bao, which are one of my favourite bites and I have to say this time baos were a little too oily as there was some issues while cooking; also the list of wine could get a couple of more choices, as 3 kinds each of white and red are really a few for such a good menu. Anyway I'm looking forward to my next visit!

This is what happens when an Executive Chef is so passionate about flavour that he goes insane!
The taste fusions here were quite unique, to the point that in some cases, you wouldn't expect them to work, but once you place one these bad boys in your mouth, you realise that you were very much mistaken!
Marshmallows on fries? You gotta' be kidding me! But again, I ordered them, tried them, and obliterated the entire bowl. It was surprisingly delicious!
I also sampled the oysters and sashimi; a much more prosaic choice, but delicious and fresh in taste.
My favourites where the culinary explosions of the Futo Sushi. Monster sized sushi good for sharing (if you like the person you're dining with). These were a taste explosion, with the beef/cheese combo being a delicious highlight!
Finally, the staff were friendly, relaxed, yet professional. These guys have earned themselves a regular customer with me!

Was greeted by very sullen faces of the servers all the way till ordering and getting the bill. Didn't have oysters for the day when I went specifically for oysters - should notify patrons in advance next time (via website or email to customers who have made booking for the day). We need to place 2nd order as portion ordered for 1st order was not enough. However, it was difficult to get attention of servers. Even though there was a bartender right beside us, he refused to make eye contact with us even if we signal for his attention. He would rather ring the bell and get his colleagues to serve us (probably it is not within his job scope to take orders from customers). Aircon within the restaurant was inconsistent. Area where I was seated was very stuffy.
Will never visit again given that the servers looked so unhappy to serve customers (no matter how great the food is).

I asked for some more sauce for the truffle fries but need to pay additional costs for it. The sauce came in a small sauce plate which was the first time I encountered it. I have been eating regularly the truffle fries with the sauce separated at all your outlets. The sauce and mushrooms came separate in a small bowl, not small sauce plate. Overall, the services and food are great. I spend $300+ For the meal and to pay a few cents for the sauce is not the issue but I feel it’s not business sense to ask for another 30 to 50c for the additional sauce which in turn gives a bad impression of the restaurant.

Was a little disappointed that we got a seat right next to the entrance and cashier although we made a reservation. The chair was sticky and a waitress helped to wipe it with sanitiser, and this made the entire chair slightly damp. I requested for some wet wipes because I had touched the sticky chair and the waitress apologetically informed me that they did not have any. I'd expect every decent restaurant to stock some wet wipes given the pandemic. There also wasn't any Happy Hour for alcohol at lunch time which was surprising since most F&B in the Somerset area do have HH deals in the day. Overall, food was great, service decent, but probably will not return to this branch in a while because I appreciate a good HH deal.

My Japanese friend commented it is the first time she is having such Japanese Fusion food, and it was not bad. Just the taste sometimes was not blending. On the day when we dined, the NETS, VISA and Mastercard machine was not working. It was either cash or Amex. Luckily I had an Amex or would have to run about looking for an Automated Machine to withdraw cash which will be a hit or miss given you don't know how much dinner will be.

I feel that the lunch bowls should be the same size as those offered on undiscounted items as it is only fair that same size bowls are priced cheaper during lunch time. It will be abit misleading to say it is discounted at $12 during lunch time at Somerset and appears smaller than the regular size bowls during dinner time.

Food selection has too much carbohydrates contents. Being cautious about my intake, I can only eat 1 bowl of salmon with rice, without any appetizers or side dishes. And I don't take oysters.

Unfortunately the Uni during happy hour was sold out on that day we visit. Such a pity unable to try it. However, Overall, the food was delicious, especially the fresh oyster and we received prompt delivery and good service by your friendly staff.
