A wonderful venue serving the most delicious cocktails. Mr Hyde and his team are true professionals. I know the whole point of the concept is that the location is hard to find but I just wonder if it’s a little too elusive…

Hydeaway is my absolute favourite place for a grown up evening drink! The space is really cosy and relaxing with its low ceilings, soft lighting and gorgeous and deliberately faded decadance. So many little touches in the decor. We love the menu, cocktails which pack a sophisticated punch and rarely leave a hangover, and Adams always on hand to talk us through ingredients, flavours and backstory. It was the obvious choice for an important birthday and Adam made our bigger group feel really welcome, tweaked the space more than once to make it work for us, and managed the tab etc with applomb. Thank you!!

The Hydeaway is a rare find. Great venue, atmosphere and more importantly proper adult cocktails.
The old fashioned I had on my last visit was the best I've ever had...and I've had a few.
My only gripe? The 10% service charge. Maybe it's just me but I'm not used to this on a drinks only order. Cocktails are pretty expensive anyway...could do without the additional charge on top. This aside, always a pleasure and a treat to drink in this cool cocktail venue.

Really friendly & welcoming. Pointed out that the cocktail menu had changed since I was last in, suggested a cocktail I might like and adjusted it to suit my palette. Cocktails were excellent. Nibbles would of been nice with the drink to compliment the drinks. The cocktails are amazing but a bit too expensive so it really is a place to go for a special treat or only have one.

I'm sorry you think our bar wasn't value for money, we endeavour to deliver high quality ingredients, in house creations set in a unique environment. With the price hikes in all produce, electricity and living costs this all comes at a cost and seeing as most bars in the area using the equivalent ingredient are priced higher than us I would hope that our guests would appreciate us not putting our prices up. Some feedback:
The seating is SO uncomfortable which is not fun especially on the live music nights.
Asked for a coffee for the driver after an initial beer last week and was told ‘no, this is a cocktail bar’. A coffee would have been reasonable I feel. The non driver was drinking plenty of cocktails!

I love the feel of the Hydeaway and the drinks are delicious and great value for money. My only criticism is that service can be quite slow, we would have had another round of cocktails if they’d arrived quicker but we waited about an hour for our first drink. Having said that the staff are so friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

So glad you enjoyed our little bar, unfortunately your are right, you joined us on a night where our third member of staff had called in sick just as we were opening so I couldn't get a replacement in time so we were really struggling to keep up with the orders. We limited the amount of walk in guests so we could concentrate on our booked guests but with only half the amount of people on the bar it was very hard to deliver our normal service. Sadly our cocktail waiter didn’t know what alcohol was in some of the cocktails we enquired about and didn’t try to find out, on our recent visit. Think the bar was short staffed - used to cocktails taking a long time, but didn’t seem many staff working that night. Will come back as we know (hope) it was just an unlucky night and we’ve had lots of great evenings at Hydeaway.

First visit and loved the ambiance even though not particularly busy …took quite a while to get a couple of drinks and we were off to a concert so ended up being a bit rushed, but will definitely go back….Drinks were great !
