Traditional harbourside location in the Anstruther conservation area. Bar, food, coffee, rooms and larder selling local produce. A great place to eat.
Superb service friendly and excellent service
Really enjoyed our time at the boathouse food was good also the cocktail
it was as really cold but other than than absolutely amazing
The fish was outstanding, nice homemade chips, soup was delicious, kids mac cheese was good and a decent sized portion, lobster was fresh and good value, scampi was very tasty. We ate outside and the atmosphere was very good. Staff forgot one of our dishes, but not a major problem as it was dealt with promptly and they apologised. Personally, I like peas with my fish and chips.
Fish and chips were best We have ever tasted. Would recommend. Murray (Muzza) was so polite and we had a lovely conversation with him. He certainly looked after us
Thanks to Fraser and Team for providing an enjoyable relaxed eating and drinking experience, especially in these trying times!! We will return on our next visit to Anstruther and hope you all stay safe and well.
We were looking for a pleasant venue, good food and fine atmosphere and we were happy on all fronts. The staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive , the food very good and we had a pleasant chat with the locals. All in all a very pleasant evening in a lovely fishing village.
We had a fabulous meal with our friends on Sunday. Service was excellent! Fraser was very helpful and attentive! Gold starts for him!!
Was a great place good was great, if I had to be picky a nice salad dressing would have been nice, either on the salad or served seperate. But overall fantastic, great staff as well
Great food and service
Great stay, great staff. Had a great time. WiFi is poor / non-existent though.
The lemon sole was delicious -best I’ve tasted in years and staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely go again if in the area. Thank you.
Food was delicious and service great. Would recommend and will return.
We were disappointed with the decor of the Boathouse but the food and staff made up for it. The inside needs improvement. Little expensive for a pub meal.
Food was delicious as always can’t fault it can’t wait for next visit
Fabulous food and fabulous staff
Excellent on everything.
Booking system easy, staff always friendly, food and service was very good and its great that it is dog friendly. All in all a pleasurable experience.
Made 2 bookings: 1st booking: Table not ready for 15 mins, then not in Larder room where we'd booked. Then took 1 hour for starters, 1 of which was cold! After that food & service was better & they didn't charge for the starters. 2nd booking: Table on time but still not i Larder room where we'd booked. Food & service was ok.
We received a warm welcome. We felt safe and comfortable and the food was tasty and served promptly.
Good food, love the hand cut chips. Local produce great. House wine good value. Felt very safe at the table we had. Thanks for a lively evening.
Excellent Food. Love the new menu. Very good customer service from all staff and abiding by covid rules very strictly which was nice to see.
It was so well organised spotlessly clean and safe all covid measures per guidelines in place very freindly happy staff and great grub
Great service very friendly Food lovely
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Boathouse. Were shown to our table quickly, in the larder which was quieter than the main restaurant, our order taken, drinks arrived soon thereafter and there was only a very small wait for our food to arrive. The restaurant was extremely busy so could understand this. My husband had the battered smoked haddock which he said was delicious. I had the king prawn scampi which too was delicious. We had ice cream desserts to follow which were yummy. Overall a lovely lunch and will definitely return. Took advantage of the government dine out scheme and our bill was less than £20. Fantastic!
Excellent service from friendly staff, food was hot and not long to wait after ordering.
Absolutely fantastic meal, huge portions too. Lovely wine also.
Excellent restaurant all round. Good covid19 procedures, we were lucky enough to go on a Wednesday and took advantage of the 'eat out to help out' scheme, no reduction in quality and would recommend the scallops and smoked haddock crepe. We booked as it was dog friendly and there was plenty of room for him too. The staff were fantastic and really good fun.
We were very welcomed and promptly taken to our socially distanced table. We ordered quickly for a great choice for adults and children. All meals were very tasty and my daughter enjoyed her lobster. All 50% off at the moment on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but we would go again out with this deal.
Lovely lunch served by very helpful staff
Very pleasant evening out. Food and service exceent.
Food, lager, staff all excellent
Come here every year for a meal when we visit anstruther the food is always amazing
Very happy with everything, we have been coming to the boathouse for around 7 years and have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work folks and we will see you again soon
The best ever!
Great food and excellent service at a fairly reasonable price. Waitress very friendly and helpful. Not much ambience as place was quite empty and a little dark. Overall very pleasant experience and I look forward to a return visit
Excellent fish and chips. The fish was really fresh and tasty. (Wouldn't have minded a few peas on the side though.)
Enjoyed a lovely meal here on Tuesday evening together with a Bottle of red wine which was reasonably priced and not over the top like some other places. We are returning later this week to enjoy another meal here. Kirsty was a very attentive server.
In these different times we found the Boathouse had a really good system set up. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food was scrumptious. What more can you ask for.
A superb meal and great service, especially Blaine who was working his butt off.
We enjoyed our meal here both nights. Friendly staff and covid precautions taken.
We were a party of 4 and precooked for table at 5.30pm. Arrived in plenty of time and shown to table which was in a good position at the window and generally not on through walking area for others. However about 6.40pm we were informed that our table was required for 7pm so we could not order dessert as there would be no time to enjoy. The person informing us of this was quite blunt and non apologetic! At no time either via the booking system or on arrival were we informed that only had till 7pm. We understood that they were trying to get as many covers as possible to help with the costs of reopening etc during this CoVid time. However it did ruin the meal as we were planning on ordering a dessert and more drinks! The food was lovely and very tasty. I would go back but will now ask when we have to be out.
Very nice food and staff were very pleasant.
Excellent meal, friendly service. Recommend the seafood chowder.
Great service and really tasty food. Thank you for a great experience
lovely meal and friendly staff as always.
Overall a good experience but due to Covid ambience not good and we had to leave by 6. I’m sure under normal circumstances it would be great.
Very pleasant location and friendly staff
