Pleasant, ambient pub/restaurant. Busy mix of locals and holidaymakers.
Food delicious, very large portions for every dish we tried, beautifully cooked and presented. Haddock & Chorizo fishcakes, and Smoked Haddock Burger deserve a special mention - both delicious and massive!! Decent pint, good choice of malts and cocktails aplenty!
Staff pleasant and helpful. The Boathouse quickly became our go-to place in Anstruther for drinks, snacks, and dinner.

Booked two consecutive nights and very happy both times. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was homemade and portions were good. The staff do not overbook, so there is no pressure or panic from a seating perspective. Quite simply, good value pub food.

Grahams food is always delicious and the young staff were kind and considerate. My friend suggested that they have gluten free bread with the soup maybe store some in the freezer. We came at 2.30pm and still there at 6.45pm lovely atmosphere for 2 women to sit and have a chat

Visited twice during our weekend. Booking system excellent. Loved the outdoor seating in pretty, peaceful garden. Very friendly, attentive professional staff. That’s why we returned. The fish was outstanding, nice homemade chips, soup was delicious, kids mac cheese was good and a decent sized portion, lobster was fresh and good value, scampi was very tasty.
We ate outside and the atmosphere was very good. Staff forgot one of our dishes, but not a major problem as it was dealt with promptly and they apologised. Personally, I like peas with my fish and chips.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Boathouse. Were shown to our table quickly, in the larder which was quieter than the main restaurant, our order taken, drinks arrived soon thereafter and there was only a very small wait for our food to arrive. The restaurant was extremely busy so could understand this. My husband had the battered smoked haddock which he said was delicious. I had the king prawn scampi which too was delicious. We had ice cream desserts to follow which were yummy. Overall a lovely lunch and will definitely return. Took advantage of the government dine out scheme and our bill was less than £20. Fantastic!

Good covid19 procedures, we were lucky enough to go on a Wednesday and took advantage of the 'eat out to help out' scheme, no reduction in quality and would recommend the scallops and smoked haddock crepe. A great place unless you're vegetarian, which one of us was. The macaroni cheese with garlic bread was beige and mediocre; the only other choice was the inevitable veggie burger (which might have been good but my veggie partner had already had one in another pub at lunchtime). Everything else was excellent. Best gluten-free fish and chips I have ever had. Real ale well kept and an interesting little selection. Service very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit, especially if you're not vegetarian.

Food was lovely. Had chowder Mac and cheese tempura prawns and fish and chips - all piping hot, fresh and tasty. Staff friendly and brought water for the dog. Only thing - park a motorcycle out front permanently so big vans can’t park outside the window spoiling the view!
