Opening for our first season in 2019, CEDAR land+sea kitchen quickly became a local’s favorite and was awarded Best New Restaurant” by a prestigious regional magazine. As on premise owners, Chef and Bartender Barbara and Jack Royal bring many years of culinary experience to Ocean View’s Best Kept Secret.

Waitperson was terrific as was the hostess. Atmosphere was fine. The food was excellent. The only think I could say was with the French onion soup. It would have been great except the croutons had a different taste. It may have just me. I would certainly recommend this restaurant. We actually gave our daughter a gift card for her birthday.

The food was exceptional--starting with a Baked Brie appetizer with fresh fruit and followed by cashew crusted Halibut for me and grilled Salmon for my wife. Everything was delicious and done perfectly. I also appreciated the option of purchasing a half bottle of one of my favorite wines by the glass. We will return!!!

One of the best culinary experiences of my extensive travels. It is difficult to express our pleasure with Cedars. We were a group of six with various taste, from rare steaks to fish (I had Halibut). I’ve lived in the area for over 40 years and have had the pleasure of sampling many great restaurants at the beach, this was tops. Staff was charming and helpful. We were a little disappointed that there were not the selection of appetizers as before, but certainly understood. Our server was able to get those GREAT sweet potato fries that we had been looking forward to, and we were most appreciative! We will be back.

It was our first visit to Cedar this year and we don’t know why we waited so long. We had the crab dip appetizer, crab cake dinner and tuna dinner and they were all amazing. Can’t wait to go back. It’s a definite must try.

Cedar has a wonderful ambiance. From the moment, we walked in and were greeted by the lovely hostess to the end of our meal. We were impressed with all of the smiles and the wonderful quality of service. There were four of us in our dinner party, and although all of the meals had such exciting features, one, the duck, was not as good as it had been the last time we had been there, which is why I gave an eight instead of 10 for the meals.

We moved to Ocean View end of last year. The restaurant was closed for winter, so this was our first time. We really enjoyed the casual vibrant atmosphere. Appetizers and the paella for two were delicious. Our cocktails were awesome. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Our chats with her throughout dinner enhanced our special evening to celebrate my husband's birthday. We look forward to dining there again. Suggested Improvement: The tables that have the wall bench and chairs on the other side don't seat guests at the same height. I was on the bench which was much higher than my husband's chair seat height. Our server gave him a pillow which helped but it was awkward. Suggest getting much higher firm chair seat cushions to provide equal height for chair guests and bench guests.

Cozy high top table area is private and less busy than the main dining area. Food is a bit pricey but very well prepared main dishes. Sides leave a little to be desired. Orzo was watery and broccoli overcooked. Still, Cedar is our go-to for reliable upscale dining

I have been to Cedar many times and it never disappoints. The food is wonderful and the ambiance is friendly and relaxing. This time I brought my two brothers who were visiting from out of town. I took them to several restaurants in Lewes and Rehoboth during their stay and they both agreed that Cedar was the best by far.

What a great meal! We all enjoyed our dinner start to finish. Warmly greeted at the door. The server was lovely and non-intrusive. The chairs were comfortable. Wonderful selection of entrees. We were toward the corner of the restaurant and it was a tad noisy, but once a large party departed it was easier to converse. We will definitely be back. So happy to have found this hidden gem.

Frankie (wait person) was fabulous! Loved the expanded outdoor space. Food always fantastic. Unfortunately, the dining area is so loud, one can’t talk during dinner. Love this restaurant!!

Great dinner tonight at Cedar!! Perfectly cooked fish all around, fresh tuna and halibut were excellent! And the entire Royal family present in the restaurant was a bonus. Awesome service from Frankie and killer desserts.

The service was excellent; they suggested mocktails for the non drinkers in the group that were delicious. The only issue is how noisy it gets; but we are getting used to it.
