- Is there a kids menu?
- Unfortunately, there is no kids menu. Our menu changes daily, with the seasons and as crops become available. Our menu is fine dining farm-to-table most suitable for romantic dinners, celebrations and date nights, however kids are welcome.
- When I try to make a reservation it tells me to call the Sunflower Cafe number, why?
- When the dining room is fully booked and we can no longer take reservations, you are prompted to call. However, if this message shows up, we are likely too busy with customers to answer so please email us or text us if it is urgent and we will do our best to get back to you within 24 hours. If you are trying to book a last minute reservation, we are fully booked and will not be able to accommodate anymore reservations for that service. We apologize for the inconvenience.
- Can I book a Gazebo with my reservation?
- The short answer is no. You can request one but we do not reserve them for guests. We only have 5 Gazebos and a dining capacity of 55 with 15 tables total. Most guests do request Gazebos but to maximize our seating capacity we must give those reservations with 6 guests first priority for Gazebos as they are meant for 5 - 7 guests, 7 being the maximum. We apologize if you request a Gazebo and we can not provide one. We do try our best and hope you will still enjoy your experience with us!

What a wonderful “outside the box” idea. Beautiful surroundings, very good service and fabulous food. Only complaint is the wine and the tasting menu we wanted weren’t available - hope they will be next time. Also a lovely appetizer was brought to our table - and a minute later it was taken away and given to another table - server was apologetic but honestly - it felt awkward. Overall a good experience.

My reservation was cancelled by the restaurant as they were not open on the 24th! I then scrambled to find another booking two weeks before Christmas, for the 24th. Every single bite was heavenly; the focus on local, seasonal ingredients means flavors are fresh and vibrant. The chef then takes them and transforms them into dishes that must make angels sing! Loved the space. The gazebos were comfortable and cute.
The food was well seasoned and plated. The appetizers of the tasting menu were not as memorable as the mains which were divine.
One member of our group opted for the wine pairing however the wines never came with the meal it was supposed to. We had to remind our waiter a few times about the wine pairing.
Besides this, we enjoyed our time and would recommend it to our friends.

I would prefer a menu with complete dinners and prices Not a pork chop for 41$ and 14$ for potatoes and 7$ for a roll. I will happily pay 60 for my meal but I don’t like to feel nickel and dimed like that. The food was good not raving good.

We really loved our dining experience at the sunflower cafe. The food was incredibly flavourful , and kept us wanting more !!
Our only suggestion was around beverage selection for our group
1. Non alcoholic choices or low sugar options were very limited. Maybe a non alcoholic beer option, sugar free pop, other flavoured carbonated beverages?
2. Red wine selection to accompany red meat choice ie. Cab Sav ? Very limited options available but maybe it was a one off night ?

Outstanding!
Halibut was superb, the beef disappeared quickly and the gnocchi that I stole from another plate gave Italian pasta a solid competition.
(I was in Italy the month of May to attend a cooking school).

The friendly service & the flavour of the food & presentation of the food was phenomenal. I would like to suggest soft cushions for the benches and I heard you had blankets and those will be great to put on top of our laps. The different kinds of bugs started to get bad flying around us and trying to get in and out of our food. I was thinking if the blinds that were being put up on the other gazebo’s that if they would have put them up on our gazebo as well the bugs would not have been as bad. That’s about it. Nothing to big. The washroom was really cool to. Our experience was wonderful and last night while we were eating we were sending messages to our friends and family about how the whole experience was really great.

Every bite was a delight! We’d been looking forward to trying out the cafe for awhile now, and were not disappointed. My husband took me there for my birthday. The servers are very attentive and personable. The food was delicious. We would have probably lingered longer, but the sun was right in my husband’s eyes so that wasn’t too pleasant. Also, would be nice if the bread was something that came complimentary. I wouldn’t mind even if the dinners were priced a bit higher just so you get something tasty brought to your table complimentary. Anyways, you know going into it the bill will be expensive, but it’s a wonderful experience and everything we had was excellent, so flavourful. And you feel really good about supporting local, true food made with excellence and care. Looking forward to coming back :)

Our only challenge was that it was a September evening and we did not bring enough layers since seating is outside - we were cold - however, they happily supplied blankets which helped. They said they are adding heaters. We are definitely going back!

We had a great time. Buns and butter were amazing. Salads, carrots and dessert were great. Mains could have use a touch more flavouring or bit more salt. Server was very nice however her check in times were spotty. I had to request a second drink by flagging someone down that was not our server. Plates took too long to be cleared from our table.
Nothing that would keep us from coming back as it's a beautiful place. We hope Maple Ridge will grant you another permit.

It's a fantastic place.... it was a hot summer day, in the midst of a farm... and the food is so yummy. You can't ask for a better experience.
The only thing that I found a little curious... is the reservation was for happy hour (@3:15)... and really from the moment we go there we kept hearing..." kitchen is closing soon, please order now... and we will have to move you to the couches soon because we have to set for dinner". Honestly, our server said the last statement at least three times.... so we were cognisant of that throughout the whole time we were eating. So my suggestion to Sunflower is....maybe 315 is TOO late for a reservation because it backs up right against the dinner time?. We honestly could not totally relax because we felt that we needed to eat and drink fast. So while the overall experience was so sweet and lovely based on where the Sunflower Cafe is situated... we felt totally rushed. - Emily Renoe

The brewed coffee that was being served was extremely watery to the point that it was see through and we were not given cutlery until way after our meal was already placed in front of us and we had wave down our server. By the sounds of it, it was an extremely busy Saturday so next time we’ll just try going on a weekday. Delicious food which is the main reason we came anyways :)

Rain the owner was so rude. He ruined my evening. I will never recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. And I will tell as many people I can on how badly I was treated by this man so called bad owner who is clearly not professional at all

My dinner of pasta,as well as my daughter’s dinner was not warm. That was also true on another occasion we attended where one meal was cold. It’s one thing to sit ina cold restaurant but cold food is not acceptable.

We didn’t get our reserved table which was disappointing but fine. It would of been better if we hadn’t been so close to the door to know that they sat 2 groups of people with no reservations at those table instead of moving us. No one asked us if we wanted a second drink, seemed to want to get you in and out as fast as possible. The food was really good.

great experience great food. As a business owner myself and adding to your success with some advice. I just feel our main server could have been a bit friendlier. Ask us how everything was and anything else we needed. She did her job, but she could have added a bit more to the experience. Maybe tell us a little bit about the farm and the experience we are about to receive, ask us how we found out about the sunflower cafe. Just a little cheerier, not just business like. I find when I go out, which for me is rare as I can't get away from my business very often, The overall experience is important. Wishing you every success and we will be back!

Such great food and service for sure, but tables were tight with people sitting right next to you and all the seats were hard with no cushions. Prices were a little high but the food was excellent so well worth it, service was great but a little slow at times just waiting for food and after almost 2 hours our butts are a little sore. Would be great for the prices to have actual built in washrooms, instead of the tiny trailer ones. Not sure if this place would work in the rain as it was not fully covered and would not work for people with disabilities (wheelchairs) at all. Would just love to see this place have a more permanent structure and be able to grow and operate year round to include everyone. Such a great experience over all, wonderful food and staff:)

Love having a restaurant like this in our neighbourhood that focuses on seasonal foods and foods that they raise themselves. The Chicken 3 Ways was delicious but the thigh was a bit hard to eat with the bone. More wine options by the glass would be great and also saying how many ounces are in a glass.

Sunflower Cafe is a most picturesque and delicious place to go for an amazing dining experience. Every morsel was divine. Dress warm and comfortably as it is open but protected from the elements. Your comfort is their priority with heat lamps and a romantic, friendly atmosphere. It’s worth the drive and every penny for this farm to table dining.

Evening dinner.
Our table was on the concrete slab under the tent. Much nicer to be in one of the cupolas amongst the flowers.
The “main” arrives on a plate without a complement of rice or potato or noodle or, practically, any vegetables - and this is a farm. It was a surprise; took for granted the chef would want to frame the centrepiece and show it off on other than a mostly bare plate. And there isn’t much in the way of sides except potatoes and salad, either.

Overall we had a good experience ambience was great service was great and very friendly. Our suggestions are that the appetizers weren't varied enough so that if you wanted to have a variety of appetizers and no main there were no meat options for shareable plates. The evening we were there there were no fish options left so it was either pork, beef tenderloin or gnocchi. The beef was excellent however the pork was overcooked too chewy and nothing special. The pomme puree was oversalted. Our other take was that if you were only having mains and no appetizers then the mains do not showcase the vegetables from the garden. There were only a few swiss chard leaves on the potatoes which were a very large serving. Less potato more vegetables. We were a family of 5 and our bill came to $630. Drinks for $16 were good but too many ice cubes not enough drink. Harvey wallbanger tasted a bit too much like orange juice. But overall a good experience and we loved the setting! thx

We had a perfect evening! Our server/bartender, was very knowledgeable in communicating the ingredients in each dish. Each uniquely flavorful with produce from farm to table. I really appreciated his wine knowledge and where/how the vineyards barreled each bottle. He even provided the family history. The off sales of the bottles of wine we had tasted in the pairings was a nice added touch too. All in all it was a 10/10 experience. Thank you!
