We had a great day on Sunday June 7. Thanks for organizing your phase 1 operation so well. We enjoyed our visit! We did have one suggestion...table 19. This table was often swarmed by the bar line when we were there from 3 to 5 pm. People in line were really on top of us. I know the small hand out asked people to not form a big queue for the bar. However, they did. We’d suggest having staff monitor that and verbally redirect patrons, if possible. We did learn there were orange lines in the grass such that people should queue parallel to the building. However, this did not seem to happen. Staff could suggest people re-form the line parallel to and not perpendicular to the bar. Keep up the good work you are doing to help us enjoy your winery. Thanks!

First time going to The Winery at Bull Run and it was a great experience! I love that there is a separate area for adults with children so if you don't have children or you don't want to be around them you don't have to. The Winery itself is beautiful and the staff was friendly and available when we had questions. We went during phase 2 of COVID so we were unable to do a wine tasting but enjoyed the 2 bottles that we picked on a whim. Parking was easy and the restrooms were clean. We will definitely be back soon!

There was no service to speak of even though we paid $20 per table for our group of 8 (2 tables). We reserved at the family "heated" patio space. But no one helped with the heaters or setting up the tables. We had to drag the heavy heaters ourselves and turn them on ourselves. Also, you can't get wine glasses unless you buy the glasses for $4 each. We weren't interested in buying the glasses so we had to use plastic cups that were flying away because of the wind. This is unfortunate because in previous visits, the experience was decent.

We didn’t try the food, but it looked great. The process that they had made us all feel very safe. We had a blast! One thing, I wish we could’ve brought water into the facility, but I do understand why that policy is in place... But I think they should look into it more. Especially with summer coming. I carry water everywhere I go, and I’m sure a lot of people are the same. Thank you for a great day!

I normally love Bull Run, but this was not a good experience. It's phase one so things are naturally upside down. However, they still made me not feel very welcome, even as a member. They asked us to use an order form and hold it up to the plexiglass. I did that, and the girl didnt get the order right at all. She also didnt ask for my member name so I had to pay full price, even after I gave her my $10 voucher (for the reservation fee), which she did not deduct. It was bizarre. And the order form (specific for phase one) offered a tasting poured at the table, or a tasting with 3 - 4 oz bottles. I ordered both, neither one happened. Instead, they gave 1 oz pours in plastic cups, in plastic trays. Unfortunately, the wind knocked mine over. It was the worst deal I've seen. Even the limited food was different, like I orderd the proscuitto and mozzerella cheese, and all I got was the proscuitto. The only reason to go to Bull Run right now is for the incredible property. Avoid the staff and ordering anything there as much as possible for the time being.

It was nice place but the food truck service made it where I'll never go back. It took over 50mins to get my food (2 baskets) and when asked where my food was I kept being told I'm next. After the 4th person after"I'm next" I hit highly upset and agree reached over to the side and handed me a bag that had been sitting there and my food was cold. I stood by the window the entire time and they NEVER called my name. I usually never feel discriminated against but I did this time. If you're LGBT, I wouldn't recommend this place.

I wish that the $10 reservation fee had been used as a credit towards a purchase. Didn’t love having to pay to book. I can understand having the fee as a deposit and certainly keeping it for those that don’t show, but for those that do, a credit would have been kind. I was also disappointed by the no water rule. It is 100 degrees outside and you’re charging $2 for a bottle of water that I could purchase the entire 24 package for the same price. That’s ridiculous! I understand not wanting customers to bring in outside liquors and things filled in water bottles. I wish an unopened store bought bottle of water could have been considered. It is way too hot to not have patrons drinking water and the price of your water is far too high! Or, please consider complimentary water.

Had a great time but don’t understand why our request for a table with an umbrella was overlooked. There were at least 15 tables free the entire time we were there with umbrellas. We would have enjoyed our time more if we weren’t baking in the hot sun. I felt like my request was overlooked on purpose because everyone else in our section had an umbrella.

I was very impressed with the organization of the winery. I felt like the measures they took to socially distance tables, tell people where to go, and the reservation requirement made me like I could enjoy myself in the middle of a pandemic. It was my first time going out to a social event since the start of lockdown and I felt secure. I will be back.

I was disappointed that my reservation to sit under heat lamps but they weren’t ready so we sat in the “barrel” room but there was no ambience it just felt like a basement with school room fold up tables. There was no service and no real staff interaction to see how things were going

I think that the staff wasn't really attentive. You are giving 2 hour time blocks but lines to get wine were super long. You charge $10 for the reservation of the table but aren't really providing service. Been to 4 other wineries who have better protocol and more organized and none of them charge a reservation fee that doesn't get used as a credit for wine. I was okay with the reservatiom fee but thought things would be more organized and you wouldn't spend over 25 minutes in line for wine whenever you only have a 2 hour block. Also, noticed, staff not cleaning tables before they sat the next guest :(

I was disheartened to see so few people wearing masks. I thought we were supposed to wear one until we got to our table but many people were arriving without a mask at all. It seems as we have entered phase 2 and 3 businesses have become very lax with their mask rules.

The winery has expansive outdoor seating, under umbrellas, and was enjoyable even on a day where the temps were in the 90s. They have done an admirable job of adapting to the COVID-19 situation, though offer no table service. You go to a central station to order and pick up your wines. They have installed plastic partitions, and serve in disposable cups. I don't know what it was like before. They still offer wines by the bottle, some by the glass, and a testing flight with a written description of each of six wines you can read on your own. There is no sales pitch for wines or a membership (we are not members, although members get free tastings and discounts on other purchases). A food truck is available in the afternoons. We also saw a lot of families with children looking like they were arriving for an afternoon at the park. There is an area designated for families, and another adults-only area.

Overall a great job getting back open and entertaining. The wines are always great, the food truck rocks, and the music is fun. Recommend one easy improvement...the cheap plastic cups for wine are really disappointing. These are like rock bottom of the barrel quality but the wines are still normal full price. Recommend upgrading to a better quality plastic cup.

The food truck had a 40 minute wait (which is half of the allocated time slot for a table reservation) & we had to resort to eating crackers and cheese for lunch. Perhaps The Winery could consider having more than one food truck available . Another option would be partnering with food truck vendors to take orders in advance so they are better prepared to service the winery's customers.

We ran into trouble because we had to go back and forth to the front check-in a couple times because with each table we were given to sit down at, there was already someone there. The front check-in didn’t seem to have an answer why or were helpful. Eventually we did get a table, but it was clear people were switching tables on the fly or the front wasn’t keeping track.

The ambiance was fantastic. The reservation process was smooth and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I think it would be helpful to have the long list of entrance restrictions as part of the reservation confirmation instead of only upon arrival at the Winery. I think it would be nice to have music piped in when the live music isn't playing. I'll tread very carefully here, because this was the low point of the visit : The recipe and pricing for the pitchers of sangria needs improving. There is no correlation between what you pay and what you get. If you are going to charge $30 per pitcher is should have some fruit, triple Sec and a deeper flavor.

Just too hot to sit on General's Deck; sun shades do little and umbrellas kept swinging in the wind. Should be a service person coming around to clean up and offer fresh ice for the bucket. Best to put up a permanent roof/sunsetter. Bring back the tastings for members, and not in tiny plastic cups. Did not eat from food truck so no review.

Very nice Friday night at the Winery. We took our own picnic and reserved a picnic table in the lawn. There was live music. I would suggest that you bring a table cloth and also some other cups/glasses. The small plastic cups that they give you for your wine are not good.

The security personnel called us liars when we told him the security guard at the drive entrance said we could bring in water as long as it was for kids. He said it not once but twice. So completely unprofessional that I will never bring corporate clients to this winery

Didnt like the experience one bit. The family area is more like an after thought as it is the furthest from the vineyard and the view that you have is a parking lot and mulch. You cannot hear the live music from there and looks like i got one of the non shady areas even though i was there at 11am. Pretty disappointed in the whole experience, will probably try it again once the tours are resumed and everything is open. The pre packaged food was decent, but the food truck was about 15 minutes walking from the family area. Ended up leaving sooner than what i had planned as it didnt live up to the expectations. Also if you want drinks you need to walk to the bar which is another 5 minute walk, would have preferred to have service at the tables. Ended up spending over $100 in beverage sales but didnt feel like we got the experience. First time ever visiting a winery for us but it was a huge let down.

love the live music. did not try the food- brought our own. loved that all guests were wearing masks until they arrived at table. The young man who greeted our car to give us the paper directions had a mask around his neck but was not wearing it :( We, inside the car, were wearing ours to speak to him. My wife and I are regulars at Bull Run Winery and normally we’d rate the experience close to a 10. However, this time we lost more than 30 mins of a 2 hour time slot just walking through the parking area (which was very Dar), waiting in line, and getting situated. We suggest specialty parking for Generals Club members and maybe a separate line as well. Other than this, all went well.

We are so excited you are open again. We attended the members only soft launch and then again this weekend. We have two kids so we've been in the family area. The picnic tables are great and we enjoy hanging out. My only comment is in regards to the umbrellas. Twice we've been and twice our umbrella's have had trouble. One leaned so much I was afraid it would snap in half. Then yesterday our umbrella didn't go up at all. Just ask that you guys check on the umbrellas and replace if necessary. Sorry to be a pain. We do love it there and we can't wait to come back. This is really a small thing but thought we would mention it. Thank you so much!

Did not allow inside picnic areas for an hour due to weather conditions expecting to rain ,but there was no rain and we just had little time to spend there because of holding us there.

We were so happy to bring our own picnic, look out at the gorgeous view, and safely sit far from others at a picnic table with easy opening umbrella and sip wine from our own glasses. Lovely setting!

This visit took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. I do not think food was available for purchase. We did not have the level of service we have come to expect at the Winery at Bull Run due to restrictions and distancing because of the virus. We were disappointed with the restrictions, but understand the need for precautions. Hopefully we can visit again once these restrictions are lifted.

The reason for our visit was to celebrate a special birthday of a friend. The ambiance, staff at the bar and the staff attending the tables were all wonderful. The really disappointing part was making a simple adjustment to our reservation. The picnic tables allow 6 people max and we had 2 additional guests joining our party. So naturally I called to make a reservation for a second table. After no answer on multiple occasions and no call back on a voice message I left, 2 days later I was able to talk to a real person. They couldnt help me add another table, they couldnt tell me if there are 2 tables available at the same time, they couldn't give a refund if we can't secure a second table at the same time, they couldn't guarantee that the tables would be next to each other or in close proximity, no plan what happens if its raining. Sure enough there wasn't a second table available for the same time of the day and the only way to find out is after you pay the reservation fee. No effort to even try to accommodate, all I was told was that nothing is guaranteed and members have priority. Once we got there with the first part of our party, with an hour difference between the 2 tables, we noticed that the adult section was 70% empty. An hour later the remaining guests arrive and they are not given a second table, they are sent to the same table that we already have 6 people on. We quickly asked for the second table and eventhough there are no other people seated around us, we are not even given the closest table so we can all celebrate together. Such a beautiful winery, but i would never plan a celebration there. Very poor customer service on the phone. So many similar businesses are going above and beyond, i would want to deal with this headache again. This was supposed to be a fun celebration. It shouldnt be that hard to make a simple reservation.

It’s definitely not the same, service was a lot slower and it was difficult for club members to get their wine before they were seated, but all understandable in this environment! I know they’ll figure it out and get everything running smoothly! Just a learning curve for now. We enjoyed getting out and enjoying some wine and the weather for a bit!

The wine tasting cups were in tiny plastic cups which easily blew over (we were sitting outside and there was occasional wind). It was hard to enjoy the wine tasting experience as we were worried/holding our cups down the whole time.

Check in was very smooth, the map could’ve been designed better with maybe some landmarks noted as reference; the tasting was as well put together as it could be given the current situation; the set up for the picnic tables was great; everything was clean and organized. Purchasing wine was a little tricky but we got there in the end. Very well done. A little pricy for what was received but, once again, understandable in the current situation.

I thought we had booked a table tasting under the shade.. when we got there we sat in general seating at a picnic table just like everyone who walked in, had to go to the bar and get our own drinks. Im not sure why we booked a table for $10 to get a $10 voucher to have to order ourselves. I wont be coming back or hosting any events until things go back to open. If I make a reservation for a seated shaded tasting, I expect a seated shaded tasting.

Bull Run has done a great job setting up a reservation service and safe sales area. This ensures that both the patrons and employees reduce their exposure risk. When we arrived and went to our table someone was already sitting there. They had clearly not reserved a table but were just hopping from each open table without reserving/paying. For those of us who did make a reservation and pay it was frustrating to witness this. Perhaps someone should do a check to ensure this doesn't take place.

Amazing atmosphere and such a beautiful place. That being said don’t expect to compare the wine to a vineyard in Tuscany. Would go again, but could still get a better bottle of wine for $10.

Assigned us a table where people were still sitting? Do you enforce time limits? Reassigned us a table, never updated in system and our food delivered to wrong table. Things appeared unorganized.

It was a super hot day and they did not allow you to bring in water which is not on their food policy posted online. There is also a $10 charge to reserve a table which there were plenty of tables so I didn’t understand that. You can’t hear the music from the family area picnic tables which seemed like more false advertisement. The wine tastIng just had 1 selection of wines and were a tiny, tiny pour in solo cups which you could barely taste on this hot day. The good part of this experience was the BBQ food truck that was amazing and the outside bathrooms were pretty clean.

This past time the seating in the tent was not as nice and not as warm as the previous time when were in the patio area not far from the singer. I was chilled most of the time, so I did not enjoy it as much. On the bright side with the breeze blowing through the tent, there was plenty of fresh air. We were at table 78. The water was turned off in the bathrooms in the barn, that was inconvenient. I thought that was the bathroom for all the patrons were suppose to use, so not my best visit.

Had an AMAZING time! My girlfriend and I reserved a table in the production barn. Our server Lanai was absolutely perfect! She was so friendly and made sure we had a great time wine tasting, and eating cheese and crackers. After having a wonderful time, the great staff took us over to our campfire date. There we had great tasting Delaney wine and had a lovely evening. We will definitely be coming back many times in the future!

The food choices did nor reflect what was being advertised for the day. The food truck was out of the supplies needed to prepare meals. The grass was extremely tall- considering the circumstances of life right now- people are making improvisions to accommodate the public. You would think the winery will cut the crass every weekend. It was scary to have the grass near my table above my ankels in 98 degree heat!!!! The wine prices went up? But you are charging a $10 reservation fee that does not get used towards your purchase? I feel taken advantage of. The outdoor bathrooms are convenient, but- just because they are outdoors doesn't mean they shouldn't be cleaned. While everyone figures out what the new norm will look like- it would be nice to consider patrons safety and satisfaction overall. Take a walkthrough - as a patron- see if you are pleased.

We originally wanted to be seared closer to the music but for this occasion it worked out ok In future can we pick the area to be seated? Lawn was very general, we had table 218 in the Generals Quarters section over by the white sails

When I asked for a glass of wine they gave me a sample cup and filled it up. Understand if this is what is typical but should have let me know as it was quite expensive for like an inch and a half of wine in a small sample cup. Ambiance was beautiful .
