I have lived in the area for 78 years (so far!) and never been to your Pub. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome and there was a good number of customers creatibng a great ambience. We ordered drinks and were served by Laura, a delightful young lady, who embodied the Fox Welcome!
Another really hepful and cheerful young lady showed us to our table and ttook our food orders.
The food was lovely and most generous in portions, Good Pub Grub which we were pleased to experience for once. Too mmany "posh grub" pubs with tiny portions and high prices seem to be todays norm.
Thank you The Fox for a lovely evening and a "not too painful" bill at the end.
We'll be returning.

The food was delicious, and generous portions. All of the staff that served us were really friendly and helpful. One of our party decided to let the waitor choose his pudding, and was subsequently served the hot cross bun bread pudding special, which was very well received and delicious! Thank you.

Our booking was for 5pm last Sunday and we were advised that there were no side dishes left - including cauliflower cheese. Nevertheless, when we ordered a pork roast, we did expect more vegetables on the plate than a pile of soggy carrots.
I will be looking for another venue next time we wish to book a Sunday roast

The one thing I would ask is for a bigger choice for coeliac, there is never much choice for me. I lived the curry but would like a roast sometimes.

Had a good lunch time meet with ex work colleagues. We had an outside table with a heat burner to keep cosy. Food was good and service was good. I would say that the Fox news to replace some of the seating outside as it's not very comfortable. In all I would score it 8/10. Nice friendly staff who were very attentive and helpful. Would certainly recommend another return.Thanks for a good experience.

Had a lovely lunch, food was tasty & great portions. The fish & chips were really fabulous & the roasts very good. The marquee looked pretty but was freezing which was the only downside. Heaters were provided but struggled given the cold weather. Will be back but to sit inside in the restaurant.

Really excellent. Took a party of 12 cyclists there, arriving in stages over about 30 minutes. Great service, food and very helpful. The only downside is because they're not open on Monday & Tuesday, and we were visiting on Wednesday, you can't phone them in advance. However, the online booking worked well.

I found that the menu was rather limited, and ours was creased and dog eared. Because there was a fair amount of ambient noise,the waiter was difficult to hear. Also there did not appear to be a drinks list per se which was a little hard to understand. I ended up with fore rib of beef which disappointed and did not spot until too late that it had no side vegetable. Thus ‘meat and potato’ became a little boring.

Food, staff and venue were all fantastic.
My only complaint was how difficult it was to interact with the pub digitally. The Christmas menu wasn't on the website, when I called and asked for it to be emailed to me it never came through. I booked online but there were no instructions about needing to give our food order in in advance, I had to email and ask. Then when we were there, the only way to see the wine list was to go on the pubs website, no paper copies available.
Seems like a lot of leg work for the customer.

The food here is always amazing. We travel over an hour just for their Sunday roast. This time it was Mother’s Day and the place was very busy so service suffered slightly, but not to the point it caused us to get frustrated as we were a group just enjoying being together. Our experience overall was positive. We booked the marquee which was nice. As there were 7 of us, we were unable to book the garden, which was fine. We were ok to bring our dog :)
The food was generally good but had shortcomings, given the price. My nephew's burger came very well done despite it's being ordered rare. To be fair, he was asked whether he would like it replaced but that would have delayed service so he declined. My daughter, grand-daughter and I all had the same thing Halloumi Burger which the showed as having avocado among the ingredients and there wasn't any. Looking at the online menu now, we not that it is not mentioned but the paper menu we were given did. So a typo led us to a bit of disappointment.

It was a busy Friday night with the bonfire, fireworks and a live band. Good to have the outside bar and we stayed for drinks and dinner afterwards. Very well run and efficient service all evening. The only point I could raise which isnt the pubs fault is that the toilets got very busy and messy as the evening progressed.

That was probably the best Sunday roast we have had, in any pub, all year and we have been to the Fox a few times this year. The thing that lets it down is the veggie options. The polenta was tried on previous occasions and was revolting and the other veggie choices are lacking. If you can improve on this we’ll be back more often as for us carnivores it was excellent!

Wow! I'm glad I booked! Obviously the place to be for lunch on Thursdays! Immediate warm welcome. Nice seating arrangement. Great variety to choose from on menu; definitely not your usual 'pub menu'. Really substantial portion size. Couldn't manage desert after that!

We were sat in a very noisy part of the bar, next to noisy coffee machine (not were we'd booked to sit), which was difficult for my father in law as he is hard of hearing.
Three of us had the roast which was nice . Two of us had the Yorkshire pudding wraps- disappointing. It was the same as the roast, with the vegetables and potatoes removed, and some chips added. And a very small amount of salad ( lettuce leaves ) . Not as described, and very expensive for what they got.

We had an excellent roast dinner, including my three year old, he got a very generous child's portion. Service was excellent, staff very friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely return in the future

Overall experience was very good. My only complaint was the beef silverside, though very tender the Madeira sauce lacked flavour and the vegetables were undercooked. I appreciate no one likes soggy vegetables but these were just too hard, especially the potatoes.
