There were four of us. The burger, fish & chips and pie of the day were all good. Chips were excellent. I had two starters as my main course. The ham hock and pea terrine was delicious but the bacon and stilton soup was very thin and lacked flavour. I did tell them on the night and they were grateful for the feedback

What a gem of a pub. Not only have they got great beer on tap but the food is amazing. We had the Thursday £10 offer of Rump steak with chips and salad and we weren't disappointed. Not only great value but the food was amazing too. We will certainly be coming back.

Gorgeous Sunday evening in the beer garden. We had the roast beef and beef burger - both of which were delicious - the chips are insanely good! We had our two whippets with us who were spoilt - gravy bones and a fresh bowl of water plus lots of kisses and cuddles.

Very pleasant Sunday lunch. Eating in the garden was lovely, the food was generous and well up to standard. Our only gripe was being charged for a pint of cider when in fact it was a half. We did not notice the mistake until we got home.

It was obvious that the Venue had recently changed ownership and a new team was getting established. The Food , which is why you go there , was superb although a little slow on coming out of the kitchen. The Service certainly came with a Smile with a Capital S. very friendly. We visited The Plough for lunch with friends and were very pleased with our choice. The meals were excellent, two of us had steak pie, one had chicken pie and my husband the liver and bacon. We all thought the food was great, my only criticism, l would have preferred my gravy separately. I had the vegan roast dinner, but they didn’t have any vegan gravy, You can’t have roast potatoes without gravy!
