Excellent venue, great views. Overall the experience was above average with some minor issues which need review and relates to initial table service settling in, menus and drink order and extended period between order and delivery to table, just under 1 hour which is 20 minutes too long more so where children are involved. Nevertheless an enjoyable visit and one which will prompt a return.

Very good experience for our lunchtime visit. Nice views, ample portions and efficient and friendly staff. The design of the building seems to lend itself to amplifying noise somewhat, but on our visit this did not detract from our enjoyment. We would definitely return.

The staff, food and position of the restaurant were excellent however felt the ambiance was rather more cafe than restaurant, this is a very personal opinion and I realise many people would like this. I’d like a warmer atmosphere however this will not stop me booking again!!

Hi, the food was great. Just two small issues; the first was the beer, being the end of the keg, was not right but this was rectified ASAP. The second was with regard to the ginger sponge, already second choice as toffee apple crumble had run out! When this arrived it was actually lemon flavoured ginger sponge which was not listed on the menu and also the waitress failed to mention it. It was very nice but not quite what my son expected and given the choice of lemon ginger or sticky toffee he would have changed to sticky toffee. Otherwise overall it was lovely food and a pleasant experience, especially as the seating request to be by a window was fulfilled, thank you.

Really enjoyed our evening at “the view”, great atmosphere and couldn’t fault the service. Will definitely be back again. The only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of choice on the menu for me as a coeliac. Most things were fried, or came with chips that weren’t done in a separate fryer. Perhaps a bigger range of options in the evening that aren’t fried? Nice to have pub style food but would also be nice to have some more variety like steaks or fish with mash or other potatoes for example. Looking at the menus there are plenty gluten free options at breakfast and lunch but evening was lacking. Having said that our meals were delicious, so nice to have another dining option in Newburgh.

We were aware that there was a 30 minute wait for food as all cooked fresh, however we were made to wait for over 1 hour for our food. When our food arrived the mixed grill was missing the steak, and we had to send it back. When it arrived back correct the food was very dry. It is unlikely I would return to The View.

We were served our sharing starter at same time as our main courses! We suggested we cancel the starter but waitress suggested we have it and could take home anything we couldn’t manage! Doing them a favour I thought there might be a discount!!!!
Sweets - my husband asked if he could just have ice cream - was given 2 small scoops in a cardboard tub - and charged £4.95 !!
Our second visit - this time treating our grandson after good exam results ( mentioned on booking)- but service and staff were nowhere near as efficient as our first visit a few weeks ago!

With the new covis rules it seemed a bit strange but the View followed all the regs to make sure everyone was safe.

This was our 2nd trip to the View. Last time we had a lovely lunch this time it was the breakfast. We love the views and layout of the View - and want to come back more. However, this time the food was pretty poor. Most of the breakfast items were way overcooked and almost impossible to chew especially the bacon and the potato scones. It also took a long time for us to actually get the food ( I think it was around 45 minutes and the place was pretty empty). Staff are friendly but need to be more attentive to the tables and the speed at which they serve. We want to keep coming back but if the quality of food doesn't improve from this experience then we will find probably not do so.
These are not just moan complaints as we do want to return :)

Lovely restaurant with beautiful views. With well spaced out tables and liked the separate entry and exit doors. Food was great, I struggle to get a big salad when eating out and it was perfect and the grilled chicken wasn’t oily, just like I asked for it to be. Went to dog friendly lounge with 2 black labs for lunch after lovely walk along Newburgh beach.Very friendly staff , quick service which reduced stress to eating out with 2 dogs , water provided for dogs and extensive and reasonably priced menu.

Didn't realise when booking that they allow dogs - place smelt of wet dog.
1 of our party returned undercooked gammon steak for it to be replaced with an over salted unedible gammon steak.
No poppadoms served with the curry.
Topped macaroni was bland, missing the bbq sauce also.
The sticky toffee pudding was good though!

Fish and chips was great. Skewer was overpriced for 2 large prawns and small pieces of steak. Suggest it should have more meat/fish on it. Small salad.

Great first time experience regarding the setting and food however, not suitable for a quick lunch as the service is quite slow. During the current Covid situation it was rather cool due to the windows and door being open for ventilation otherwise it would have been fine.

We were looking forward to visiting The View after hearing good reviews. We were disappointed with our experience. The food was bland and no one in our party enjoyed there food. We all had problems cutting our food. Not sure if all the food was tough or the knives were blunt. One of our party broke a tooth with the grilled chicken. Bad experience and none of us will be back.

The main issue was 2 dogs on the other side of the separation where we ate, I personally dont mind dogs but my partner fears them and the smell that elmanatedvfrom the dogs while eating my soup had a lot to be desired apart from that fine’

Staff -lovely, food very good but overpriced, wine only available in large glass. Can get same cheaper elsewhere so a bit too pricey and would put me off returning. Waitresses were really lovely and so helpful and friendly.

Reassuring to see the measures put in place to ensure safety of all during COVID-19 outbreak. Positive vibes and prompt service made of a relaxing time. All staff polite and accommodating. One suggestion- could blinds/some form of cover be considered for the windows in the lounge to adjust sunlight? Don’t want to block the sun out completely but was uncomfortable at times having to sit with sun in our eyes as I able to move table due to social distancing measures. Take care.
