With being transplants from Rockland County, New York, we expect the very best in a dining experience and that is what you get when you dine at the Mill Pond. Whatever dish you order you will not be disappointed as the chef is a chef and not a short order cook. The menu is extensive and will suit the most discerning palate, from vegetarian to the meat eater. The array of desserts is the perfect finish to a delicious meal - light and refreshing. Also, I almost forgot to mention that there is a more than adequate drinks menu with a specialty cocktail being offered. The wait staff is a joy to deal with. We believe that the Mill Pond is the best restaurant in Schoharie County.

I think this was one of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. I loved that the owners were there and working to help the experience - really showed that it was a family business with care and attention. The ambience and experience sitting outside the pond was beautiful. Even the inside was homey, classic, and aesthetic and comfortable at the same time. The food was also amazing, a little bit different which was awesome, and not too expensive. The service was attentive and timely, but not intrusive. Overall, it was just a perfect experience! Thank you to the owners, chefs, and wait staff!!!

We LOVE the Mill Pond Inn! Excellent food, lovely owners and waitstaff and just an oasis of great dining and atmosphere all year round. My only complaint ever is sometimes I wish the music was just a tad softer as it can get quite loud when me is trying to have dinner conversation in an acoustically very live room. But otherwise, perfect!!

The best restaurant in Schoharie County, New York. If you want a dining experience that is comparable to dining out in Bergen county, NJ, Rockland county, NY or Westchester county, NY then this is the restaurant for you. Had a wonderful evening at the MPI Friday - nice table on the deck overlooking the pond area, beautiful evening, enjoyable live music playing from inside, delicious food & a very nice server, Lalani (sp?), who took great care of the two of us. As always, we loved our dinner experience at the Mill Pond Inn. Food is exceptional and the staff is friendly and inviting. Bobby Curious is one of our favorite entertainers at the MPI and we are always pleased when we leave.
A small suggestion - dessert prices are a bit high at $10 and for that reason, we no longer order coffee and dessert.

Beautiful ambiance, farm fresh food with elegant presentation, friendly service. We had a large group for my daughter’s graduation and we requested to dine on the deck. The view was lovely and our favorite part of the meal was the unique, delicious appetizers. Get several kinds! The artichoke fries are unbelievable! The mango quinoa salad was incredibly flavorful and the grilled shrimp/cucumber dish was amazing. Definitely a special occasion place as the entrees are expensive but there is care and artistry in every dish.

Ps if I didn’t mention the drinks we had ATV the bar before going to our table you would have lost that money . I asked the bartender to transfer the drinks to our dinner tab but I noticed they weren’t, so I mentioned it to our great waitress and she adjusted the final bill. I am personally a bartender part time so I picked up on it . Just saying tighten that nut a little . Thanks again

I believe the chef used frozen shrimp instead of fresh and it was not good. I love shrimp as many people do. For a quality restaurant like the Mill Pond, customers expect fresh shrimp, even if they need to charge more for it.

This is the only fine dining restaurant in Schoharie County!!! We have been dining at this restaurant for over a year and have never been disappointed. After moving to upstate NY from Rockland County, NY we were surprised by the lack of quality food offered by the local restaurants (fried food everywhere). The region abounds in substandard food choices. The Mill Pond Inn & Tavern could compete with any restaurant in Rockland/Westchester, New York or Bergen County, NJ. Quite simply the Mill Pond is the best restaurant around. The chef is fantastic and the atmosphere is just delightful - the added entertainment is of course a big plus.

This was my second time attending the buffet. I have a gluten allergy. I love how I can eat and not have to worry about getting sick. The staff is so knowledgeable and they go out of their way to double-check, if they are unsure, I can't wait to try dinner sometime in the near future!!!! Mill Pond is SO worth the 45 minute drive!

Our first visit to the Mill Pond Inn & Tavern was fantastic. For starters the service was first rate. Everyone we came in contact with including the hostess, bartender and our waitress went above and beyond to insure that we were happy with our table, the cocktails and our farm to table dinner. When David, proprietor, stopped at our table we let him know we would definitely be coming back.

We loved the entire experience!!! I will definitely go again… bought dinner for my daughter even though she was working… she reheated the entire entrée and said it was far better than the “ fancy Otesaga the school took us to for our “senior trip” ( during Covid) “ she will recommend to visitors visiting their loved ones in the nursing home!! Value only 8 stars … only because it’s more of a dinner date than a family dinner ( although both of my children 7 and 15 were extremely well behaved … and my 15 year old saw a beloved teacher there as well)… for two people it’s absolutely worth it!! And how can I forget!?!?! The piano player was absolutely perfect !! My 15 year old was shocked to see and immediately tipped him saying “ you just don’t see that anymore, and he makes the entire atmosphere even more ……<~ insert any teenage lingo that means amazing!! Will return !!

Just a great place to be ordered a lot of food to try and we were going to take home what we didn't finish but we ended up not leaving anything behind. Portions are great size for individual but not to share for more than two people. Our plates were empty and bellies full and we had a great time. The live music was just about to start but we had our son and bedtime was looming.
