We are a small traditional Portuguese restaurant which pairs organic ingredients and our ancestors' recipes to produce fresh and authentic dinner options.

We have had our door open for over 15 years. During this time we have consistently delivered home-cooked meals in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Because we are a small restaurant, we limit our table size to 4 guests in order to maintain our quality of food and service. We recommend smart casual attire for dinner. A nice shirt, trousers, or a light dress works perfectly. We look forward to serving you.

Booking Notes:

**Summer Dining (June to September)**

Due to high demand and our limited capacity of just nine tables, Tasca Do Ricky does not accept reservations between June and September. During these months, all tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We strongly recommend arriving as close as possible to our opening time of 7:00 PM, as tables often fill quickly during the summer season.

We ate there on a previous visit. Enjoyed it so much we wanted to return. Same experience. Fabulous fish dishes, engaging waiter and an owner who obviously cares. As a sign on the wall proclaims, it is not a fast food experience. But as long as you are prepared to wait for your food, you'll have a great time. We booked again later in our trip and enjoyed it equally

Absolutely brilliant in every sense and in every way. Waiters were super friendly, knowledgeable and advised when needed. Atmosphere was warm and cosy. Food excelled at every level Couldn't fault the place even if I wanted to.

What a find indeed! The perfect place to dine out. Ricky was a delightful attentive host and the food was exquisite. Love that each table setting is set for a maximum of 4 people as this means you can enjoy your meal and hold conversation easily. We had a 3 course meal , very reasonably priced and will definitely visit again when next in Faro. If you want authentic food with a welcoming host then this is the place to go.

Ricky and his team were fabulous hosts, and Ricky was very attentive towards me and my partner. He's a very funny guy character, but knowledgeable with it. The food (expertly cooked by his lovely wife) was perfect...., the king prawns in that beautiful sauce was sublime, and the octopus was so tender and lovely (not rubbery as expected). Our dessert was as tasty as the food we ate earlier. To summarise, I would say 10/10 all-round for it's location, ambience and service. But more so for Ricky, the Chef

Alas we could not eat at the restaurant because it was the day of the power failure but we did dine there earlier on our holiday and it was a truly delightful experience. I had the grilled sea bream, which was exceptional, the bill was extremely reasonable and we commend Ricky as a knowledgeable and generous host. We intend to return when next in Faro

Ricky's was recommended by our guesthouse and did not disappoint. Ricky and his assistant were welcoming and enthusiastic about their menu and wines, and the food was plentiful and delicious. When I say plentiful, we had two starters (pic-pau turkey and cuttlefish), then went on to two of the rice dishes (marisco and razor clams). Everything was delicious, and if we'd only shared a rice dish (for one!) we might have had room for a Portuguese dessert too. Would definitely go again.

We booked this restaurant because we were looking for a more traditional meal than the usual tourist menu and we were not disappointed. As you enter you are greeted by the owner, Ricky, a wonderful and charismatic man. Ricky enthusiastically talked us through the menu and offered suggestion of what to order and gave some background to how the dishes were prepared and details of the specific ingredients – even down to the humble potatoes uses, which it turns out he grows himself on his family farm. I had the Seafood Cataplana whist my wife had some delicious fresh roasted Cod. Generous portions of well-prepared food topped with some local ingredients made for a memorable evening. If you ask nicely, Ricky will even share recipes and cooking suggestions with you. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Don’t be put off by the slightly off the typical tourist district location, its still only 10 minutes from the centre of old town and well worth the trip.
