We have just had a 2 nights stay at the Kenmuir Arms with DBB.
Welcome warm and friendly. Room 3 so comfortable every possible luxury you need. Great nights sleep over the 2 days.
Breakfast : Chris Chef Patron makes his own Black Pudding & Venison Haggis. All ingredients sourced locally. Service from front of house is excellent.
Snug Bar: every hotel should have a snug bar like the Kenmuirs with the 3 sisters behind the bar. Cocktails/Locally brewed beer. Local Gin. I could rave on, but you have to go to enjoy.
Food: Chris Chef Patron is both Highly Skilled & Passionate Chef with a great High End CV and a team of locals and the occasional visiting Chef friends. The Menu for Dinner is total as local as it gets. Minimum food miles. Imaginative with excellent presentation. A small Dinner Menu great sourcing prepared and cooked with skill.
The team are dedicated to providing a great welcoming experience.
He is assisted by his wife Beth. Plus and a big plus a charming South African Lady whose name I cannot remember (Big Apologies).
Now this is Community run Hotel/Pub/Bar in the nicest wee village in Scotland winner called New Luce.
Chris ,Beth and the Team provide some of the best accommodation Food and service. The situation is Picture Postcard. A Hotel by a River with a Bridge seating by the river bank and a Patio area that looks over the village. You have to go you will not regret your visit. Sadly they only have the 3 beautiful so comfortable rooms.
As it is a Community Venture I hope the locals a few of whom we did meet in the Snug bar. Appreciate the quality and skill of Chris, Beth and all the team.
I would love to have this on my door step.
If you don’t use it you could loose it.

Such a beautiful start to our holiday in Scotland. Beautiful location, beautiful smell on arrival. Room was beautiful and spacious. Sunday roast, stickey toffee pudding and breakfast delicious. Staff phenomenal and so friendly and helpful. Thank you Chris, Beth and Michelle!

Lovely Sunday roast dinner. The Kenmuir serves the best food in the area, it is the only place I would go for a meal out or a birthday or a special occassion. Lovely setting, the sun was shining, the sheep and the birds were all in the background and it was lovely to see cyclists stopping off for a drink and relaxing by the river.

Five of us went for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Waiting staff were very accommodating when one of our party changed their mind about their main course. A bit off the beaten track but well worth it. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved our dinner and the service.
Food faultless and delicious.
Wine could have a bigger list and some older, dated wine.
Not sure the coffee machine was working properly. it looked good bur didn't taste of coffee. Didn't say anything as we had had such a lovely evening. All in all, miles better than anything in Stranraer. A triumph and we will be back.

We were a little surprised it was a set menu on NYE as this was not found anywhere on the website, need someone to keep that up to date. However the food was good and meant 2 or 3 of our party had to try things they normally wouldn't. Which they found they liked. We also thought we had to be off the table at 7:15pm because of the email confirmation, but we could have stayed until midnight

Friendly welcome and attentive service
Good menu range and value for the quality would benefit from three slices of beef on Sunday roast or either two thick slices and a slightly larger portion of vegetables. The crumble was very tasty but would benefit from additional side of custard. Definitely would return

What an incredible setting-beautiful decor and view-excellent standard of venue
However on entrance there was an awful smell from the toilets and this was throughout our 2 hours visit
Staff were pleasant but obviously just learning the job -we were served the incorrect starter but didn’t wish to complain -the starters were very tasty
The reason for our visit was to have a traditional Sunday lunch -the Beef was tasty but 2 slices can be classed as meagre for the price
Lots of lovely ideas from an accomplished chef but just needs to provide more of his product to the paying client
